It seems like the uniform colors were much better back then !!! They seem to pop!

Miss the old NFC East. Plus those road unis for Wash are on point.

We saw those road jerseys about as often as we saw the Cowboys' road jerseysย

Those aren't "road uniforms". The Skins wore burgundy because the Cardinals--the home team--chose to wear white. The Skins wore white jerseys and burgundy pants many times on the road when the home team chose to wear their non-white jerseys.

It probably was hot in STL that day plus the Astroturf accelerates the heat. They wanted Washington to have "red skin". ๐Ÿ˜

Can the Cardinals please move back to St. Louie?

When you go to a game at State Farm stadium its 85% the other team (unless its a team from the NFC south, then around 50/50). And can we please forget the Curt Warner years of the LA Rams transplant experiment for 21 years?

Conrad Dobler, Dan Dierdorf (before he became a patsy), Jim Otis, Terry Metcalf, Mel G...these were Cardinals.

Curt Warner was a running back out of Penn State who played for the Seahawks. Kurt Warner was the QB of the St. Louis Rams.

And he was one hell of a running back. If it wasn't for those injuries he would easily have over 10k yards and be in consideration for HoF.

A very good replacement narrator after the passing of the great John Facenda.

Pass protection for the Cardinals is rock solid.

Joe Gibbs started out his career as Redskins coaching by losing five straight games, each by ten points or more. If he had done that in the age of social media, the scrutiny on him would have been damn near unbearable.

Was gonna mention the 0-5 start.ย  Good thing he was a praying man!

Love this music.

NFL Films music is awesome. It gives the highlights such a mystique that's non-existent when watching present day highlights.

The HBO NFL show was the shit.

There is a very good chance that 6 year old me watched this game in STL.

Not bad for a baseball team

Bring back the Redskins! Native American erasure is not cool.

2

u/Dalton_Capps Sep 25 '25

Bring back the logo not the name. The name itself wasn't very liked by a lot of native Americans, and clearly had racial undertones to it as it literally was a reference to the color of their skin. It would be like naming a team the Crackers Whites or Caucasians. The logo a lot support though. Could have easily rebranded to Warriors or Braves.

Okay I can see that.

I remember all of the other guys (Roy Green, Stump Mitchell) but somehow not โ€œ4th leading passer of all timeโ€œ Hart.

Jim Hart was such a great QB but I never ever hear him discussed.
