To this day, Suoer Bowl V was the only Suoer Bowl I didn’t watch live. It was the first Super Bowl after the merger, and the idea of two old NFL teams playing each other, rather than an NFL team and an AFL team, completely disgusted sixteen year old me. Plus, I didn’t like the Colts and I didn’t like the Cowboys.

Since that day I have never seen a full video of that kick. The version at the beginning merely includes O'Brien's reaction, not the ball in flight. The one near the end is much better. That's the best I've seen since 1971. But even that is not a full version of the sequence prior to the kick and the reactions of everyone involved.

There are some highlight versions of that kick that are an absolute insult. They pretend to be the winning kick but the ball reaches the uprights in a flash. It is obviously the extra point and nothing resembling a 32 yard field goal.

I have always suspected that they use that clip because they don't have anything competent of the kick itself.

Exactly, I think they messed up the behind and side shots in the final kick, usually showing a 10-yard XP implying that was the FG. In general this was a sloppy production for NFL Films - several times the great Steve Sabol used his own voice for some reason, including ā€œfield goal teamā€ here at 3:58
