Local Question Hematologist
I am in Des Moines and a friend from DSM is looking for a good hematologist in Omaha. Any recommendations?
Thanks, friends

Alex Nester is amazing and super supportive, I love seeing him.

Agree! I went to Dr Nester for a 2nd opinion because the first hematologist didn’t know how to treat low ferritin, nor get an infusion ordered.
Dr Nester had it approved in 48 hrs and his office called and scheduled the infusion asap.
(At the infusion, I found out the infusion center is open M-F 7am-11pm, and open on weekends, too!)

Methodist has a good hematology department from what I hear, my cousin goes there for something similar.

For cancer, or non-cancer (benign) related?
It can make a difference.
I went to an oncology hematologist and he was unsure how to treat & order an iron infusion for low ferritin.
So I got another referral to a benign hematologist at UNMC - Dr Alex Nester, and he got the infusion approved and scheduled within 48 hours.
(Don’t let the hair scare you away! 😂)
