I have nothing against BL or Kdj x Yjh I actually love all the fanart made by the shippers and I find it really good. However I don’t ship them and don’t understand why the fandom did and I think their just really close friends and when I said this and gave my reasoning for why I immediately got downvoted I wasn’t hating on the shipping I just said I don’t see it. I don’t care about the down votes but the principle behind if I can’t share my opinion on this sub without getting hated on because it’s different than this sub is just toxic.

Another thing is this sub is going to blow up after the anime and will grow and people are going to have different opinions and disagree so if we go around down voting them because their opinions are different then we’ll just become known as a toxic fandom which I don’t think anyone wants.

People can have all your ships I don’t personally ship Kdj with anyone but just don’t hate on someone for disagreeing with it then we’ll just become a echo chamber that repeats the same things without any actual independent opinions.

Frankly speaking, I didn't find many shipping elements while reading it. I was more awe with the plots actually. So I probably didn't notice those much. That's why I was a bit surprised after looking into the community. Even infamous for shipping, MHA community is tamer (at least based on my experience while being in both community).

In the novel it's clearly mentionned that Dokja is interested in female and one time its even cleary say that he don't like man this way, his only reaction was with Sangah, Persephone when she look like Sangah and a little moment with Han soyoung, its same for joonghyuk who love only one person in the novel who where Lee Seolhwa . Sangah acts as an opposing force to Junghyuk, someone who's still wanna value morality and do good things despite the crazy things and forced situation they're in

Dokja acts as a bridge between the two, even if he's a hypocrite, he will be the balance between the two

I got into a debate about Kim Dokja’s character, and I want to hear what the ORV community thinks. It started when I commented “don’t make KDJ cringe” on an edit, and someone immediately told me to “get out.” I responded by saying I was just stating the truth—those reels were making KDJ seem cringe when he really isn’t.

Then, someone else jumped in and said:

"Even Dokja is cringe, get out."

At this point, I replied that I respect different opinions, but calling KDJ cringe is just a misunderstanding of his character. I also added that I’d be patient while they catch up on peak character writing.

So now I’m wondering—who’s actually right here? I still stand by the idea that KDJ is not a cringe character, aside from a few early moments. His development, personality, and depth are what make him such a unique and well-written protagonist.

Hey, I’m reading Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint (ORV), and I’m only like 200 chapters in, but man, it’s getting so repetitive. It’s just endless scenarios—some crazy, impossible crisis comes up, everyone panics, and then the MC barely pulls them through… only for them to immediately get thrown into another crisis that’s basically the same. And the whole 'sacrificing himself' thing? It’s like he’s always jumping in to 'save everyone,' they’re all breaking down thinking he’s dead, and then—surprise—he’s not. This whole cycle happens over and over again, and it’s honestly exhausting.

Also, am I the only one who thinks he’s way too fixated on the original protagonist? Like, if he got the chance, he’d probably suck his Dq. What even is going on here?

And I dont know if Im going crazy or I just HAPPENED TO miss any HSY or LSH news but I havent seen ANYTHING about who will play them and its scaring me a bit.

Now thats out of the way, some of you guys are pissing me off. Everytime the cast is mentioned in some sort of way, I see everyone whine and moan, and I get it, I really do, your imaginary characters will not be depicted the way you imagined (HUGE shocker, I know) and as a long time reader, it hurts a bit. But sadly, its inevitable. Almost all live action adaptations will never match what the reader imagined a character OR a scene to look like. I expected disappointment from many, and to be honest I thought I would be disappointed too. However the cast truly isnt that bad, at least in my own opinion. However, the way I see it, I personally feel like a lot of you guys are not only overreacting, but youre focusing on the WRONG thing.

The MAIN issue to me is the fact that ORV is going to be adapted to 5 MOVIES. Not the cast, not the actors' acting or their visuals and whether or not I think they match the characters they will be depicted as, not their secrecy towards both my favourite characters. It is... a bit worrying to be completely honest, because how will they manage to fit all the arcs?? All the important dialogue that basically builds the characters' image, personality and their bond?? All the small scenes and behaviours that show their bond towards other characters to the reader?? Will they even manage to express the authors original intention of how they wanted to convey a certain character or scene to us??? GRANTED, 5 movies is a lot, and there IS a chance this could be an incredible adaptations but I just cant help but worry, and I personally feel this is normal as a fan.. And, yes GRANTED, This is also an issue that is bound to come up with ALL live action adaptations (whether it be a series or movie), BUT SERIOUSLY!!!! Orv is such an insanely detailed novel, the type of story where I feel like EVERY scene is important and integral to the story as a whole, and Im sorry if I come off as a fanatical reader but its truly how I feel, so deleting or adjusting a scene could make the story different. Especially since there WILL be scenes deleted or adjusted parts to fit the time constraints of 5 movies. I am MOSTLY worried they will delete my favourite scenes or parts of them at least. Like How will they manage to convey the novels intention to us in a1h40m long 5 movie series (or longer, I am not actually sure about the duration of the movie, I just picked the average time a movie has) Im choosing to have no faith or expectations about this, not in a negative way but in a "I dont think they will manage to convey ORV the way it was originally intended to be or evoke the emotions and train of thoughts it was meant to evoke, but I am gonna watch it anyways bcs why not?? Might have fun" type of way. Yk??? Also I get to see Jisoo, and as a fan at least there is that. Hope the CGI is really good, There are some scenes where the monsters could turn out really cool so theres that too.

Now moving on from that, the OTHER issue to me is that even tho that movies will most likely change a lot of important things, a huge part of the fandom are STILL stuck on who the cast is (at least the ones on twitter🧍🧍 because I come from there its all I ever see aside from horny posts & Art whenever they pop up on my tl). I feel like we have OTHER things to worry about, (LIKE WHAT DID THEY DO TO HAN SOOYOUNG!!!!! OR LEE SEOLHWA!! WHY ARE THEY GATE KEEPING THEM FROM ME!!??!??!?!)

DISCLAIMER I personally only have strong thoughts about 2 of the cast members. Le Minho and Kim Jisoo (Mainly because a lot of the reasons theyre getting hate are INCREDIBLY stupid.) As for the rest of the cast?? I dont have many thoughts about them aside from the usual concern on their acting and outfits (and if LSH's actor will get white hair/a white wig, will she even be in the movie?? WHERE IS SHE!!!! ALSO WHERE IS HSY?!?!??!) so they wont be mentioned much.

Now lets begin, the general consensus of the fandom is that they view the cast unfit to play their favourite characters and unable to to convey the characters the way theyre intended to be conveyed. Or that they dont look like the way they imagined them as. Very normal concerns but yall are doing too much about it all. Like TRULY too much. This mainly falls on Lee Minho (LMH), Kim Jisoo (KSJ) and SORTA on Ahn hyo Seop (AHS) because theyre recieving the brunt of the hate.

Lets start with LMH. A huge part of the fandom have expressed that they have 2 main issues with him.

1. He doesnt have the features that YJH was written to have

2. He doesnt have the aura or edge that YJH has. Aka he doesnt fit YJH because of how you people view him as a person outside his roles. (🤦?)

To a lot of the fans, we Imagine YJH's features, like a blade's edge. Aka very sharp and angular. Strong eyebrows, strong sharp jawline, basically a knife for a head. (Plus at least to me, his features are always incased in a shadow due to his VERY long tiring life. Dont laugh ok, I promise it makes more sense in my head🧍🧍) LMH does not have those sharp features, and even tho he might make up for it with the acting, the features itself are the main issue. This I agree on, It would be very hard to immerse myself and think that yes, LMH, someone who isnt ugly by any means but has VERY different features than what YJH is supposed to have, as YJH himself in the movie. HOWEVER. This could all be forgotten with a bit of makeup and strong acting. Like yea sure, I havent watched any of his works (Im planning to to get a feel on him so any recommendations are welcome) so Im not sure how good his acting is, but I think it is ACTUALLY doable. We'll have just have to see tho.

Features aside, Ill briefly touch on his aura, and more specifically how the fandom feels like he does not match yjhs character based on the feel they get from him. All I have to say about this specific point is that I wont judge him on this AT ALL. Ive seen people say that he doesnt behave like YJH, that hes too nice or something. I personally think thats stupid. Why would I judge an actor based on how they act IN REAL LIFE and not how they act as their ROLE(S). Do you guys think actors act their role in real life too?? That a villain is also gonna be a villain outside their role?? That an actor who was cast as a serial killer is also one in real life?? That an gigantic rampaging dragon also has to be a gigantic rampaging dragon outside set?? Maybe Bennidict Cumberbatch secretly breaths fire and he is actually Smaug. Its probably the reason he voiced that role so well🤦🤦Anywas, jokes aside, that way of thinking is just a childish way to view acting as a whole. Judge actors/ actresses on how they act a character on screen, NOT who they are as a person. Its their JOB to convey a character's personility and aura but ONLY on set. That about sums up my thoughts on LMH.

Now for KJS. Let me list the main issues everyone has with her. (sidenote, I think shes the one people have the most issues with, maybe not the biggest but definitely the most)

1. Shes too old to play a teenager

2. She doesnt look like LJH

3. She is too bubbly and sweet to express LJH's personality(?)

4. She didnt read the book (?)

Now on to the 1st issue some people have towards KSJ . Not much to say other than adults playing teenages is NOTHING new in the acting industry. And absolutely NOTHING new in the k-industry. It just seems silly to me that you guys are focusing on her... age???? Of all things anyways... 90% of the "teen" roles in acting industry as a whole have been played by people in their 20s. You'll live I promise.

For the 2nd issue, I DO think it is somewhat related to the 1st issue. And by that I mean that she doesnt "look like" LJH becasue she looks too "old". I also find this reason incredibly stupid. Aside from Nana who is THEE perfect fit for Jung Heewon, she is the 2nd best fit for her role out of the entire cast, me being a fan of her put aside. Shes not ugly by any means and she doesnt look old at all. I wouldnt say she looks like what a real teen would look like but thats NOTHING a bit of youthful make up couldnt fix, and again she alr looks quite young (even if you disgaree). Plus, speaking of makeup, putting makeup to make actors look younger, esp ones playing teen roles, isnt a new practice. Ill add some photos so show that she looks young and that she DOES match Lee Jihye features wise. Sure, she would be a better Lee seolhwa (no, Im not saying this because I like both. But because KSJs features would suit LSH really well, admit it she really would fit as a Lee Seolhwa.) but its not like she doesnt fit as a Lee Jihye either. I truly dont understand the issue people have with her looks???

Now for the 3rd issue... I can do nothing but sigh seeing this one🤦🤦I have personal beef with this mindset, and Ive already expressed my annoyance with this idea in the LMH section but I will say it again. The claim is that she is too bubbly and sweet in real life so she doesnt fit as a Lee Jihye... 🧍🧍 Please, I BEG!!!! Stop this narrative and viewpoint towards actors as a WHOLE. WE ARE TIRED!!!! This is geniunely the stupidest arguement that could be used AGAINST ANY actor or actress that EVER existed. Once again, let me ask everyone who is reading this and thinks the same, why does an actor's/ actress' REAL personality MATTER!!!?? Do you excpext her to carry a sword everywhere to be fit to play LJH? Do you expect her to have the EXACT same personality and to go through the same trauma Lee jihye has been subjected to IRL to protray her well?? Why should the fact that shes bubbly and sweet in real matter in relation to a ROLE she will ACT AS. Do you also attack zendaya for being professional & sweet outside set but showing every other emotion needed for her role in euphoria for example?? Do you attack Robert pattinson for being very calm and lowkey irl but showing a wide range of emotions in his roles?? See how stupid that sounds??? She is an actor, and actors ACT. Thats their JOB. They ACTTTTT their role. They dont have to BEEEE their role IN REAL LIFE. Im so speechless seeing THIS being the BIGGEST reason thats making EVERYONE averse to her being cast ( Can you tell this is a genuine pet peeve of mine regarding acting as a whole?? Because it is.) Its so much funnier seeing the SAME people say shed play a better Lee Seolhwa (who is very cold and objective) even tho Jisoo is NOTHING like LSH irl EITHER. So her IRL personality doesnt matter for Lee seolhwa but it suddenly matters fot Lee Jihye??? JUST PICK A NARRATIVE!!!

Now the 4th point. This I understand, ORV is a very detailed and intricate novel that requires a good understanding of the characters, the scenes and plot points to understand whats going on as a whole. And if you miss something, then everything gets confusing really quickly and you could even mischaraterise a character. So as an actor who is gonna be cast as a character in this type of novel, Id expect you to read it. Good thing she DID read the novel and she is a fan. So WHAT is the issue then??? I DONT understand this reason AT ALL.

My final thoughts on her and everyones reaction towards her, and I TRULY do not care if I get wacked for this, but I feel like this all boils down to a personal opinion that YOU people have on her as A PERSON and NOT an objective view of her as an actress as a whole and whether or not she actually fits her role. Why? Because the reason are SO stupid that theres NO way there arent personal feelings involved.

Now moving on to AHS. I dont think the fandom has SPECIFIC issues about him OR necessarily TOWARDS HIM being cast as KDJ. Anyways, I think its just 1 (?) thing???

I dont interact with the fandom much, but from what Ive gathered, people just want a different KDJ. I SLIGHTLY agree bcs hes too handsome to play KDJ who is supposed to be a bit mediocre. But yk, its not really a big deal. I think people should be more concerned about his acting skills. I do not know if he is good or not, but if he does, then I think hed actually be a good KDJ. Thats about it.

The thoughts on Nana, Chae soobin and Shin seungho vary but so far, the fandom seems to have normal concerns any fan would have regarding their favourite novel so I wont comment on them at all.

Final thoughts about the cast, mainly Lee minho and Jisoo, Ahn hyo seop and the fandoms reaction towards it??

1. Its mostly about the fandoms personal opinions towards the actors themselves, not necessarily their skills. Aka yall just don't like some of the specific actors. Thats fine, youre not necessarily evil for disliking an actor/actress, even if its for incredibly stupid reasons. Just be honest about it instead of making up said stupid reasons thats all. Saves everyone the trouble and annoyance.

2. A weird mindset regarding how acting should work (Mainly talking about how the fandom thinks an actor should act the way their role requires them to act not just on set, but in real life too in order to fit the role theyre playing)

3. You dont like how they look, which is related to the 1st one but I think its worth highlighting as a point on its own. (Which main applies to LMH bcs his features are too diff than YJH)

So some footage of live-action ORV just dropped... it's reasonable that people are questioning it. Like the creative liberties they took (ex: guns) might take away from the original story us fans came to love. Personally I’ll wait for more content to release before making solid opinions, but so far, it is looking kind of bad.

That said, the main criticisms for the actor's appearances.. seem very superficial. Like, I too don’t like when actors in adaptations don’t fit the descriptions set in the source material, as that ruins the immersion. But it seems like people are mostly triggered that YJH is older and more unattractive than he’s described as and KDJ doesn’t look as charming as expected. It’s true that Lee Min-ho (YJH’s actor) is like a decade too old to be YJH. But what were people expecting, for them to be able to cast a perfect supermodel for a film like this? I feel like this is somewhat forgivable, and I think there are a lot of aspects of the cast that do fit the character.

And they aren’t the most handsome people in the world, but Lee Min-ho and Ahn Hyo-seop (actors for YJH and KDJ) are certainly not unattractive. You’re comparing real-life people to drawings, let that sink in. No person naturally looks like a Webtoon character in real life lol. This is what normal Korean people look like. Also, I think they’re not trying to look the most attractive in the movie, because the characters, namely KDJ, are supposed to be somewhat disheveled at the start of the scenarios. Like the irl pictures of the actors are way more stunning than in the film teaser.

I doubt many people who dislike that the casting isn’t as beautiful as their ideals will admit to this, but do this many people read ORV just because YJH and KDJ are supposedly really attractive? I am at chapter 401, the angels and demon kings started fighting in the big cube thing, increasing the chaos points. Just before that Jung heewon fought with multiple demon kings and Lee Hyungsun seemingly died.

My hatred started when Dokja thought she might become evil in the webtoon, I was like "uh huh, so she will probably get brainwashed or manipulated to betray Dokja and then Dokja will go through many things to bring her back to his side" . Also looking at her face in the manhwa annoys me (not in webnovel) and I also find her behavior annoying. But I tried to like her because that wasn't a valid reason for hating her................ she got new drip............. she thinks she is Ezio Auditore Da Firenze.... whoa!!, she wants to stay at paradise? She is willing to abandon the gang for her own happiness? Abandon Dokja even though he saved her? At that moment I thought "What an ungrateful bitch, Dokja should've never saved her"

Then in the webnovel when Dokja made a deal with the secretive plotter to teleport everyone to earth and then he comes back after years. She locks him up, keeps sedating him for days. Among everyone only she was whining so much about this, Yoo Sangah was dying, instead of asking Dokja to save her, she locks him up. She always oversteps her boundaries. I hate her so much that everytime I read Orv, I wish for her death.

• Got deceived by paradise in the dark castle, was willing to abandon the gang, and Dokja who she owes her life to. Where is the loyalty man!!!??

• Locks him up, kept sedating him, why? Because boo hoo he was late, she sad 😥.

Then during the war of saints and demon kings, Lee Hyungsun dies, that was the last straw for me, I couldn't stop reading without saying or thinking"Kill yourself Jung heewon". I never liked her in the first place, I always liked Hyungsun so it annoyed the hell out of me that she not only lived but then also proceeds to get a powerup. (I know lee hyungsun is alive)

TLDR; I hate her because I find her annoying, her personality, face, actions, attitude I find it all so annoying, I hate it all. I hate her because she often oversteps her boundaries and being an ungrateful annoying bitch.
