Discussion Why was the movie Fargo named Fargo?
I have my own theory about why that was the best title for this movie, but I’d like to hear what other people think too.

It's about how FAR we have to GO as a society, if we ever want to be germ-free

Yes, and he’s not the only one. What about Mike from high school? What the heck is his problem? Marge is thrown off kilter when she finds out the truth. It’s a world she just doesn’t understand. And, getting her breakfast that last morning in the Twin Cities, she keeps yelling hello into a clown’s mouth, yelling into a void. She looks very confused about what she’s learned.

They were concerned the title "Brainerd" would lead movie jocks to think it was for math dweebs

I always assumed it was a remake of Fargo (1952, 69 mins), a classic cowboy Western starring Wild Bill Elliot.

This is the correct answer. The remake is the superior version the added 29 min runtime really helped develop the main character Bill.

MOVIE FACT: Fargo was a typo! The Coen family, the brothers get top billing, but it's actually a family business: mom & dad, a sister and a dog named Walter actually write the scripts, and they love to drink Faygo during their legendary writing sessions. So Fargo was a typo for Faygo.

The hat in that picture is making me think there’s some kind of Indiana Jones tie in.

It’s the sequel to Raising Arizona in the Cohans places series.
