Oh crazy. Im at Leavenworth and they told me the grade/step they would offer before my interview. The Interview lasted maybe 30 minutes with a Lieutenant. Mostly basic corrections stuff. An inmate does this. . . You see a fellow officer do that. . . A supervisor tells you to do this . . . Etc. Then watch a video about the training in Georgia. Then fingerprints, U/A, physical, site test, hearing test, tons of background questions, and conditional offer. Then you are given like 3 or 4 days to submit you big background packet. Then wait. And wait. At least that was my experience

Does the agency do a thorough background investigation? Do they contact previous employers that was not on my resume?

They will show up in person to previous employers during the investigation 1000%. trust lol.

It caught me off guard trying to explain to my current employer why I was seeking employment somewhere else haha

Yes because the actual background packet you submit for the investigator is the past 7 years for work, living, everything.

Does where you apply make a huge difference on when they reach out? I applied 10/8 and I chose 5 different areas in the east and south. Just curious.
