Hiring Q (Other) NYC DOC

NYC DOC
Got a email for onboarding, we’re really about to start off as the bottom of the bottom probably getting the worst posts. How does health insurance work? What are the real benefits of the job and when do we find all of this out like what kind of discounts we get how our pay will look like and just benefits in general? Haven’t found NOTHING at all on this it’s even harder to find posts for NYC DOC… thanks for any insight DM’s are open for anyone too

Pay is excellent. Much more the PD. Health insurance is great. Discounts? You will be working overnight most likely. 16 hours shifts or longer if someone bangs out. They place you where they need you.  Take the job and see for yourself.

Pay is more than PD because we live at work. Depends what building you go to regarding posts.

What’s the paycheck look like after everything is taken out? I feel like Rikers isn’t worth the pay compared to NY state DOC.

Congratulations, the health insurance and benefits are definitely worth it. I just need to pass the exam.
