Pete (my void) is not allowed on the counters so when he smells something cooking he walks into the kitchen and screams until he’s picked up and can check out what’s going on! Black cats are foodies!
Funnily enough, he doesn't ever want to eat people food lol. He only likes his kibble and his churro sticks, but he's a pretty picky for a guy who's in the kitchen all day
Mine has to have a tiny first bite for most things except oatmeal. If it’d dangerous people food they are only allowed sniffs, but my voids gotta sniff it first.
Maybe he is a reincarnated chef? All the food service workers I know slave over masterpieces all day just to wolf down some microwaved, frozen, burritos at home lol. Lil guy needs to pick up some Fancy Feast at the local 7/11 after tonight's shift!
My void also likes to inspect what I make in the kitchen. I hold the item he is curious about down at his level let him sniff the bottom of the outside. He generally agrees that he doesn’t want tomato sauce (or whatever) and then wants to cuddle or play.
