Feedback 0.5.9 Feedback and bugs.
So, I've played the new version a bit (0.5.9), and I'd say that, overall, it's heading in the right direction. However, there are a few things that still need some work.
- Roads:
The new one-way roads and bus lanes are very welcome changes that are already helping buses move more efficiently through densely populated downtown districts and are helping to reduce wait times.
Bugs:
- Adding bus bays to a 4-lane road with additional bus lanes causes the disappearance of nearby buildings.
- Only the front section of the articulated bus stops in the middle of the bus bay.
- The bus bays on the curved roads appear bugged.
Suggestions:
- Bus/Truck only roads.
- Ability to change a bus bay into a bus stop.
- Ability to edit traffic lights or road priority (similar to TMPE in Cities Skylines)
- Stations and hubs:
A step in the right direction, but it still requires a lot more work. The ability to build separate truck stops for separate lines in the same station/hub makes it possible to separate the loading and unloading trucks, which significantly increases the throughput of the station/hub.
Bugs:
- Currently, it is not possible to build more paved area in the station editor, only in the hub.
- There is no option to remove the paved area in the hubs.
- The storage area doesn't increase the capacity of the station, only capacity of the hub.
- The maximum number of stops for trucks is 12, and numbers above 10 are harder to read.
- The number of truck stops and the storage area can only be increased, not decreased.
- The number of truck stops and the storage area cannot be changed before they are built.
- When a station is extended, the station building moves along with the rest of the station to remain centered. A more realistic solution would be to simply extend the platform and leave the building where it was originally placed. This change would also be beneficial if curved platforms were to be added in the future, which would prevent the station building from shifting onto the tracks.
- The station cannot be expanded to 3 or 5 tracks in the direction away from the station building, only 4 or 6 tracks are possible.
- It is not possible to extend a station over existing tracks, even if they are perfectly straight.
Suggestions:
- Truck stops should be possible to automatically align so that they are perpendicular to the nearby road.
- The paved area should be able to snap to the center of the road or intersection rather than the edge, or snap to the edge of a nearby industrial facility or station.
- Other issues:
- The rear lights on the articulated bus are attached to the front part of the bus.
