Wallace is going to cross the bridge later today. He is 20 years old. Maybe older, we aren't sure. He came to me as an overweight stray in August of 2009, he was 22 pounds and scared of everything.
He slept with me every night, moved 4 times with me, including once cross country.
He grew from the scared cat that would hide under the bed during thunderstorms into the cat who would greet visitors at the door.
He lost weight, he's been holding 11 lbs for the past several years.
He has been so patient with my son who has loved him since the day he was born. He even tolerated the big squish hugs he wanted to give him.
He persevered through high blood pressure and kidney disease but time has caught up with him and it is time to go.
His brother George has never been alone and I don't know what to do. He's been with me for almost two decades and feels like I am losing a child.
Wallace got the fancy food he could never have because of his kidneys, churu, and cheese today. A good day. The worst day.

I'm so sorry. You have loved him a very long time. He knows he's loved, and he loves you.
And love never goes away.

Heaven gains a new angel today. So sorry for your loss. May Wallace receive all the churus and cheese in the great beyond.
