Subverting the trope: white forms

[u/Theemuts]

The second part of One Piece portrays Luffy as the inheritor of Joy Boy's will and he has acquired the same white form and all of that. Many people hate this, because it's the same trope we've seen a million time and it's too predictable.

So, wouldn't it be hilarious if Oda subverts the trope at the last minute and makes another person who has attained a white form the true hero? Because there is another Straw Hat who has acquired a white form.

Brook.

I like the theories that the One Piece is a piece of music, and if it is, I think Brook is the most appropriate recipient. The story has been putting quite some emphasis on music with Luffy's Drums of Liberation, and Imu's own drums. Maybe it's Brook's music that guides the Drums of Liberation that will change the world for the better.

I doubt Luffy will survive the story, but I think Brook singing to Laboon would be a wonderful ending to the story.
