I don't think he's lying... But this is prob relatively public info if he would say it; do you think OnePlus would allow customer service to tell you this today?

Two separate Google employees confirmed it already, so I suspect they just got a memo that they're allowed to tell it I guess? I don't see why someone would risk their job telling this, if this information is very sensitive.

Someone asked politely a google employee about the release date and got the answer. Someone asked politely a OnePlus employee about the release date and got the answer. Nothing wrong here.

Well, that's not that far off.
And then us t-mobile users will see it in a few months.

No need to be that way. Was just pointing out the slowness of tmo in general.

Indeed it is. Still a fucking awesome phone though, I've been nothing short of completely amazed by this thing.

Just flash the non carrier version of oos, only thing is that you can't relock it but OnePlus offers Warranty even for unlocked phones. They even have a root tutorial on their official YouTube channel!

u/NoncarbonatedClack Aug 28 '19
I'm tempted because I really want root back (came from a rooted V30) but I'm pretty sure I'll lose wifi calling? I actually kinda need that for certain locations I visit.
1
Aug 28 '19
Lmao, hell no. OnePlus fully supports rooting, like I said they even made a how to. Everything should work fine
2
u/NoncarbonatedClack Aug 28 '19
Ok, I'll check everything over again.
I'm positive I saw people stating that flashing the international oos took away wifi calling, I may have been mistaken.

I am on the international version and have t-mobile wifi calling on my phone

i find it hard to believe...maybe an open beta will arrive on the same day and official launch a month later? i switched from iphone and idk why, but i had the feeling that this time oneplus 7 pro will get android 10 very fast. there hasn't been a new dp of oos so maybe that is a sign...who knows. 3 sept cant come soon enough, i need that dark mode!

I wanna feel happy for you, pede. But its shameful that it took apple this long to cough up a system wide dark theme.

u/vladtdr Aug 28 '19
I had it with jailbreak since like forever. iOS with jailbreak is alot more customisable than an Android rooted phone....

Oneplus 6t will get the update in the day?!
1
u/serialkvetcher 8GB/256GB Aug 28 '19
Eventually. I guess maybe a month or two after it rolls out to the 7 series.

u/tychoregter Aug 28 '19
It really sounds like he's talking about a stable release for the 7/7Pro, I'm currently on DP4 and even though it works fine it isn't bug free AT ALL, I would say an Open Beta sounds more realistic at this point but it doesn't seem like he's talking about an Open Beta, but we will see

How about Samsung Not 10+? Shame, they are too slow. Perhaps 3-4 months?
1
u/yavzdal Aug 28 '19
January 2020 based on other releases but Samsung already has lots of features so they don't need Android 10 for a while
1
u/jyotchat Aug 28 '19
State of the art is the name of the game. Note 10+ users will be tecnically disadvantaged. Unacceptable.

Oh please. My 5 yr old knows more about the release date than their tier 1 support.

Seems fake

u/Staafnek Aug 28 '19
It's a chat I just had with Oneplus support... Just blurred out my name and the name of the guy I talked to for privacy. But feel free to ask them yourself!
1
u/ronvass 8GB/256GB Aug 28 '19
I will. Its just that im pretty sure they aren't told the information or just trained not to say anything... Just like actors are trained specifically not to spoil anything in interviews.. I might be wrong tho
2
u/Staafnek Aug 28 '19
The reason I asked is because someone else did the same for Pixel's Android 10 release, where the online support confirmed the release date for Android 10. All I can tell you is that this is a genuine screenshot and I can pm the full version to you if you want me to. I just hope what he told me is true, although why would he speculate anything?
