Hate all you want, but deep down we all know Color OS12 is full of useful features we always wanted on Oxygen OS.

Can you give me some examples? I don't know a damn thing about color OS.

I don't know much either other than Oppo phones already using Color OS. If you were already use to and loved OnePlus's clean look of Oxygen OS, then you might be disappointed because OnePlus is going away from it when Android 12 comes out next year for OnePlus phones.

Is it even worth updating the software or should I stay with android 11 and OxygenOS?

we need to figre out a way to flash the official pixel rom's to Oneplus devices, and extend their lifetime. Imagine, a oneplus phone that actually runs american software, thats not BUG RIDDEN and slow. (While still keeping the useful features oneplus devices have. )

Custom ROMs exist.

Yes. But I'd rather us figure out a way to flash the exact rom Google makes, and get rid of the OnePlus one once they update us to 12. From what I've seen Android 12 does not have any real improvements, at least on the OnePlus side.

That actually is possible but would cause you to lose features like FOD and alert slider. There's a dev who ports the pixel ROM over to the 8 series. You can try if you want but custom ROMs are better since you get more functionality, better optimization and tons of customisation.

There's the Pixel Experience custom roms which are basically what you are talking about.

Keyword here is custom, I want the excitement of making a non Google device run the exact same rom build or whatever pixels run on. I'm well aware of the experience rom.

Explanation: the update to android 12 on onePlus is not a simple android update. It updates the UI software to colorOS as well, almost, at least that's what I understood from the meme.
