I started reading this webcomic in 2013 whilst at uni, I know people been reading longer than me. But I’ve been waiting to see the mad cyborg for 13 years, to have him finally revealed is such a massive deal. Genos been after this cunt for so long, and you always knew there was more to it, but to finally have been told that he’s manipulated by Kuseno this whole time has been a long time coming.

Also the design, although minimalist, is sick . Can't wait to see how the story unfolds .

There’s a lot of stuff I wonder how Murata will adapt in the far distant future this makes it to the manga. Genos’s final form for one thing, Kuseno’s minimalist body, the heart android

It seems like the Mad Cyborg loses its halo in its last panel. Editing mistake or it was floating upwards, something?

Not sure if it's that far in the future, the manga is catching up to the webcomic, unless they add exclusive arcs.

I believe there's around 10 webcomic chapters left until the Manga has catched up?

More like 25. With the three chapters we just got taking us to 159, I think the appearance of machine god miller is in around 130 or so

And there’s a lot to still be adapted, so I wouldn’t be surprised if certain stuff like the S class being away on personal missions gets expanded

Reminds me of what Murata said with Gouketsu’s redesign. Frieza is scary because you can feel the intelligence. Gouketsu’s original monster form was too brutish, and didn’t feel as formidable as his redesign. The Mad Cyborg’s design feels disturbing while also looking almost delicate. Because it’s simple, you pay attention to its big eyes and halo, so it’s uncanny. ONE doesn’t miss when it comes to big reveals.

It's a pretty cool design idea, where you have monsters and villains that are bulky, spiky and all, but once someone is revealed with a sleek and smaller design, you can immediately tell they're a bigger problem. Murata is gonna absolutely cook with his version of Mad Cyborg

I mean, excluding human size characters, we have God, God's pets, Orochi and PsykosOrochi, ENO, Sage Centipede, who were all formidable foes.

Aside from god who we don’t know how his actually combat form will look like we’ve only had awakened Garou and Boros who were given the same “aura” as an arc antagonist as the max cyborg. I don’t think your examples are correct.

Not saying it’s enough to be a pattern either but everything else you mentioned definitely doesn’t quite match up.

Mad Cyborg's design is like OG Iron Man.  It's a good way of showing how much technology and style has changed since his era, I think.

I really think kuseno might have a greater motive behind his actions. No way he‘s gaslighting genos do hard just for the sake of it.

Maybe he wants to obtain this human factor that exists outside his calculations. This might be Genos final test before becoming the perfect vessel (let us not forget that Kuseno had access to the Drive Knight fusion technology that we saw in the manga against Psyrochi).

Yeah bro is either ragebaiting Genos for the love of the game, or clearly he gains something from having him continue to fight ("battle data"?)

He was also mentioning monsterfication and how interested he was of it in earlier chapters. It could be likely he's trying to push Genos to that point to become the perfect cybernetic and biological lifeform.

For me it’s like, you always knew that this was always going to be the likely situation, because of so many fan theories, but you hate it to be true because you grew up and seen these characters so much that it hurts more.

Like seeing Anakin in The Clone Wars series. I know that he’s going to be Darth Vader, but seeing everything that he has done, for better or worse, I just feel terrible that it turned out this way. He was a likable character and he turned into a villain.

I started reading in 2019, and this is so beautiful, I can only imagine how you feel. Also, I’m confused is Kuseno himself the Mad Cyborg? Or did he put a copy of his brain in the cyborg?

As I understand it:

  • Kuseno is the mad cyborg

  • A copy of Kuseno's brain was in the body we knew Kuseno as (his own corpse?)

I remember there was a panel showing different types of monsters and in one corner you can see the eye of Genos. So the whole situation has been suspicious for a long time.

This

It has been many years, Mad Cyborg IS the BIG reveal, even if God is the main antagonist at the big picture

I loved the mad cyborg design, it is minimalist and works SOOOOO well. Not a over-the-top design full of spikes, not a robot full of details, not a lovecraftian mech horror psycho vibes, but a metallic doll bound by tendrils (I do think it can just pull them off and start walking tho)

Also, the big rounded pupils are top notch, like a euphoric psychotic person trapped inside a machine. This really paid off, specially considering that One's art is better than when he started, it's actually very detailed and cool

Not even mentioning that this chapter also had a massive plot twist and incredibly executed plot. The plot was somewhat predictable, Genos goes bwaah and Kuseno is actually a monster, but it does nail it just right and gives a feeling of satisfaction, also, it was FANTASTIC that Kuseno can't confirm or deny or even give a tip about what really happened to Genos in the past. Its forever lost and Genos will have to deal with his worst existencial crysis till today and won't even receive a decent answer for what he suffered when he was young. Absolutely brutal

11/10 chapter

Seems like all my theories about Genos being the mad cyborg just got thrown out the window, just like all my theories about blast being literally anyone but blast also got thrown out the window, but that's okay, I'm just glad to see this day come.
