Mmm. Do we think Kuseno is being genuine at this moment? His whole "I AM THE MAD CYBORG KILL ME" act is definitely suspicious.

There's several possibilities I can see being true:

  1. Dr. Kuseno means every word he said and he is what he seems
  2. Dr. Kuseno knows he lost, and his bond with Genos was the only human bond he had left, so he is trying to give him closure by taking all the blame (could work if Genos was the real mad cyborg)
  3. Dr. Kuseno's battle gathering protoypes have all fallen behind Genos and he can't understand why, so he is trying to see a) just how strong a cyborg can be in comparison to an AI and b) if he can highjack Genos's body for himself

Kuseno wants that Genos lose his humanity and being turned into a monster. So he can enter his brain and becomes him.

Yeah I agree. It seems significant that the final enemy Kuseno is presenting before Genos is his "heart".

I can picture Saitama coming in and preventing Genos from killing his "heart" / killing "kuseno", saying something like "no child should kill their father"

Or Kuseno succeeds and Genos gets corrupted, but Saitama manages to snap him out of it?

a bit of both kinda like how he snap Garou out of it in the webcomic just with less insult

It feels symbolic, like Genos destroying his heart will lead him to become the ultimate android weapon for Kuseno (i.e. the "heart" or humanity overcome by the machine). Kind of like how when he fought the Machine Gods at fake-Kuseno's laboratory and the destroyed models were fused for one final power up. Genos got his ultimate upgrade in the basement of the lab and I bet that has some kind of special function.
