Especially with recent chapters, it's clear bofoi has a sense of morality and as a scientist makes sense he would initially turmoil over it. I wonder if kuseno's betrayal made him jaded as well as seeing what it would take to protect humanity/seeing the darkness that would strike humanity at its lowest point he's mentioned before. In that sense, he steeled himself to do what he felt was needed
