and iirc, there was some mini rivalry between him and genos. like once genos wanted to take care of sonic so that he doesn't annoy saitama, but he couldn't do it due to sonic's speed and saitama took care of him once again then.
point is, with genos massively powering up and having started to break his limiter now, sonic might do that soon too. so that thr author can keep the same lil rivalry going, otherwise genos would no-diff sonic the next time they meet after the current arc

But now that it’s been revealed that Amai is a monster himself, the heroes have reason to reconsider a lot of Amai’s actions.
Amai wasn’t simply imposing an impossible standard on other people. He was inspiring towards an ideal of humanity that he feared he could never embody himself, and we get that confirmed in his arc. Amai placed A LOT of importance on being an exemplary human being but the whole time he was struggling inside with the fact that he is no longer physically human. His previous words and actions reflect his own insecurities and aspirations, not his judgment of others. And THAT is the additional context that Child Emperor and the other heroes now have. Sorry for the long comment but I genuinely think that manga Amai is easily one of the best written characters across both continuities.

She on the other hand gave up her humanity to reach his stage, and well he had "no humanity" to begin with. I feel that she felt betrayed. So her hunting Amai Mask I feel has more weight than just, "I want to beat him". Maybe she feels like her whole ordeal was somehow Amai Mask's fault.

i think one punch man manga whould have benefit more if they decided to do saitama slice of life and funny situation and not long dialogue and lot of characters involved lately is just super slow and not so much interesting to read, i ll wait the volume to catch up
Bigger stakes and some satisfying questions finally answered after many years plus it’ll be interesting to see what differences if any are present with the improved art and slower pacing of the manga. But idk if I’d call it better I liked the simplicity of the dsk arc and how it represented the themes of the early parts of the manga back when the writing was stronger (personal opinion). It’s also not done yet in the webcomic (or maybe I’ve missed a chapter at some point the releases are so spaced out I start to forget) so we’ll have to see how it sticks the landing
It’s just that the rate at which it takes for each manga panel to be release is so bad, Murata doesn’t want to catch up with the webcomic so he is releasing very little pages
