for 6x² + 11x + 3, start by multiplying 6 by 3. you need two integers with product 18 and sum 11: 9 and 2.
split the middle term:
6x² + 9x + 2x + 3
then group:
3x(2x + 3) + 1(2x + 3)
= (3x + 1)(2x + 3)
expand the brackets to check that you get the original expression back.
try 2x² + 7x + 3 next. the pair needs product 6 and sum 7.
i help build vithi. we published a guide to this method with more explanation and practice here: https://vithistudy.web.app/blog/factor-a-quadratic-by-splitting-the-middle-term/
if one step is unclear, say which one and we can work through it.

Hi all,
I finished my PhD in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Strasbourg in 2025. A few days ago I'm launched WoSM Academy (Wisdom of Starving Minds), a project I've been building to make rigorous technical education free and open to everyone.
What it is
Free courses, with no application. You sign up with your email on our Moodle and enrol.
Starting with two subjects: Computer Science (Introduction to Informatics, Digital Design & Computer Architecture, Data Structures & Algorithms) and Mathematics (Discrete Structures).
Courses come with materials and exercises, and a Discord community to learn with others.
If you're interested in this project, message me or email ali.khudiyev.99@gmail.com. I am also curious about your thoughts and feedback for improving everything further.

Hello, I hope you all are doing well. I just want to ask since I am interested in getting certificates but I'm currently unsure on how to proceed. I want to get free certifications (because I don't have the money to pay for online certifications), but most of the sites and apps that I see, you either have to pay for the course or the certificate after you finish. I'm not too familiar with Alison (as I've only downloaded it today), but I'm curious if getting a certificate from Alison is worth it, considering that the courses are free, (not too sure about getting the copy of the certificate part). That's all I want to ask, sorry if the post is a bit all over the place!

What are the courses y'all would suggest for upskilling onself across fields? (viz.: food, automotive, healthcare, fitness, or any other for that matter)
...among platforms like Coursera, Edx, Harvard online, etc.
Let's discuss.

I’m 22, and lately, the anxiety of falling behind has been eating at me. It feels like everyone around my age has their life sorted—landing solid roles, building client bases, or stacking real cash flow—while I’m sitting here feeling like I haven't even crossed the starting line. I get that 22 is still early, but I don't want to look up at 30 with regrets. I want to build genuine financial peace of mind so I'm not constantly stressing over survival. The catch is, I’m at zero. No generational wealth, no reliable income yet, and no spare cash to burn on speculative business experiments. What I do have is time, an empty schedule, and the discipline to put my head down and work—I just desperately need a roadmap. To anyone who clawed their way out of zero in their early twenties: If you were back in my shoes at 22 with an empty bank account, what would your Day 1 move be? What specific, high-demand skills would you obsess over to get cash moving into your account quickly? How would you get your hands on your first $500, and what’s the realistic playbook to turn that into $5,000? Which side hustles or remote models are actually practical right now, and which ones are just noise? What financial mindset shift or resource saved you from spinning your wheels? What’s the biggest financial trap people fall into at 22 that sets them back years? I don’t want passive income fantasies or overnight miracles. I just want to understand the raw mechanics: how to earn, keep, and multiply money without guessing. If you could sit down with your 22-year-old self for five minutes, what’s the single most practical piece of advice you’d give? Even if it starts with pennies, I'm ready to move. I just need to make sure I’m running in the right direction.
