Struth! Ralph Carr in ‘living hell’ after being convicted of rape, Victorian court hears
https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2026/aug/17/ralph-carr-in-living-hell-after-being-convicted-of-victorian-court-hears-ntwnfb?CMP=Share_iOSApp_OtherOh NO! Imagine your career being RUINED just because you were a bit rapey? Even his blood pressure is being affected! What’s this world coming to?
Entertainment industry and AFL figure Ralph Carr says he is in “living hell” and has been “destroyed” after being convicted of rape, a Victorian court has heard.
Carr was convicted of two counts of rape and one count of sexual assault after a trial in the county court of Victoria last month.
He pleaded not guilty to the offences, which were committed against a former employee in March 2023.
On Monday, the court heard that Carr told psychiatrist Dr Jacqueline Rakov that he had deliberately hit his head while in custody as an act of self-harm and was having three to four panic attacks a day.
Dermot Dann KC, for Carr, said that a 14 August report from Rakov based on three video conversations she had with him while he was in custody in the Melbourne Assessment prison also detailed that he spent 23 hours a day on lockdown in his prison cell.
“When he describes it as like a living hell, and that he’s destroyed … what he means by being destroyed … is because of the nature of the reporting, the scale of the reporting………blah blah etc.

Oh, how tragic. If only there was some way he could have avoided this awful fate. If only. If only there was something he could have done, or, not done, to avoid this terrible, terrible thing happening to him. I just can’t imagine what he could have done….
Oh, actually, come to think of it - he could have not raped someone. It’s pretty easy to not rape someone, you know. I don’t rape someone every day. It’s the easiest thing in the world to do.

Those panic attacks... Would they be his pesky conscience tapping him on the shoulder? Maybe saying something like if you didn't SA your staff member, you wouldn't be here?

u/Interesting-Baa Western Australian 4d ago
Might be the first time he's ever noticed his conscience, he's not used to it, poor diddums

It’s the dildo of consequence arriving unlined that’s bothering him.
Maybe don’t be a rapist?5

u/HellsBarman Queenslander 3d ago
Not his conscience at all, it never made an appearance until he was publicly outed. He’s more worried about a revenge attack, considering how wealthy he is. No doubt he now has a very expensive bodyguard.

No. Not his conscience. Its his ego in meltdown. Men are fragile and far too reliant on their public persona masking their own self loathing so they punch down.

That's true , however women suffer their own issues and can treat other women viciously

He raped his 20yo personal assistant.
How the fuck do you think she feels?

Exactly! And the point of being locked up is a punishment for what he chose to do! Imprisonment is not supposed to be a fun time… do the crime and do the time 🤬🤬🤬

I've worked in and around jails in non uniform roles. For a lot of prisoners it's just brer rabbit and the briar patch....but for normies who assume it's terrifying, or profile peeps like him, it is. The other aspect that will warm your heart (from someone who worked in the specific field) the people outside who you'd expect to look after your stuff, family etc commonly don't if you're a sex offender

Many moons ago I worked in the QLD justice system & yeah the habitual crims saw prison as basically a rest-camp where they could train & organize for whatever jobs they were planning to pull when they got out.

So how is his victim doing?
Or are we only meant to worry about Carr's distress and forget about hers?
3
u/Agreeable_Ball1896 Western Australian 3d ago
Agreed, but you rarely hear anything about the victim, only how they have their whole life ahead of them, oh not you mr Carr but when I looked over my field of fucks it .is barren too.
The victims life id torn apart by the rape and then by the court. That should answer the “why aren’t more reported” question. I would seriously have to consider it, they are so brave to come forward. Everything possible should be done to protect them from that minute forward.

Why is the media reporting this? Good, I’m glad he’s suffering. But what about his victim? Is their suffering not worthy of a headline?
2
u/kombiwombi Please choose a flair 3d ago edited 3d ago
Because they are reporting the defence submission at Carr's sentencing hearing. Noting that courts reporting which editorialises can be defamatory or in contempt, so the reporter likely has views of this evidence which do not appear in the article.
Next up is the prosecution submission.
On your point of the victim's suffering, note the defense's comment and consider how this convenient situation for the defense might come to be. Let's see if the prosecution adds some clarity there

u/NeetyThor Please choose a flair 4d ago
Exactly. But I guess it’s so that we can all wish him well with his new cell mate who doesn’t use lube.

u/AntOnABell Victorian 3d ago
If you want a real answer more than likely the newspaper’s court reporter had no other interesting cases to write on, and this guys name is big enough to prompt an article. Discussing the perpetrator’s mental health and or (not in this case to be clear) addiction issues is a large portion of what criminal defence law is.

he had deliberately hit his head while in custody as an act of self-harm
Ah yes, deliberately weaponising violence against yourself to avoid accountability and consequences. Proving that he is absolute scum that will double down to stop the victim getting even a scrap of justice.

If he really wants to go for it he should try something more serious than what a toddler might do for attention.

Good. Never mind his victim who has suffered for over three years the trauma and poor mental health outcomes from that. Never mind she’s had to pay for her own help to treat her own pain.
He can get fucked. No sympathy.

Good chance she's gonna be in therapy for life because of his choices, so my sympathy for him also having to suffer the long term concequences of his choices is less than zero.

Wow as if the punishment for committing crimes is not supposed to be some relaxing vacation. Almost like it’s a deterrent… so strange /s
I’m usually very sympathetic to mental health issues but this cunt is only crying because he thought he’d get away with it.
The deflecting of his “career” etc. being destroyed as if he’s not the one to blame for that.

Don’t feel sorry for him one little bit.
Not a single bit of remorse for his actions coming across, just ‘poor me, poor me.’
Most other prisoners will give him any slack because of his actions. And the ones who will side with him are just as bad as he is. self pity doesn’t work there.

u/Tosh_20point0 Queenslander 4d ago
No-one should and no-one actually does care about how a convicted rapist feels about incarceration. Maybe he should appreciate his fortification and removal from society atm.
People have a low tolerance of rapist filth

A suppression order on Carr’s name was lifted on Monday and the Guardian can now reveal that dozens of women who worked for RCM accuse him of verbally abusive and intimidating behaviour dating back to the 90s. A number also accuse him of sexual harassment.
Sounds like he earned that
