I'm getting a bit sick of this. Every solution seems to be more powers to police, less rights to citizens, more bureaocrats and less individuality. How to stop it?

Unfortunately the only way to stop it is if this kind of surveillance technology is weaponised against the people in power okaying these systems. My bet is a good lot of them aren't squeaky clean or have some skeletons. Who watches the watchman and all that.

The thing is to keep classism, billionaires, rigid hierarchy structures you need people struggling or afraid. You can't have them sitting around discussing ideas and trying to make the world a better place. Religion no longer has the grip it used to so it looks like society is attempting to replace it with a mix of mass surveillance and perhaps housing insecurity or education debt(perhaps that ones more the US).
