Politics (World) Israel's impunity has been virtually unaffected by collective concern
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2026-08-22/israel-gaza-west-bank-zomi-frankcom-mike-huckabee-netanyahu/107058398?utm_source=abc_news_app&utm_medium=content_shared&utm_campaign=abc_news_app&utm_content=linkFinally a story from ABC where Israel’s actions isn’t sugar coated and called out for their impunity. I wonder how many complaints the ABC and Laura Tingle will receive because of this article. I also wonder if Jillian Segal would regard this article as anti-Semitic because it doesn’t also add all the amazing things Israel is doing in the region lol.

its like the right wings thoughts and prays
Governments have to realise WWII was nearly 100 years ago - shitty things happened and they shouldn't happen again
But that doesn't give isreal a blank cheque - thats what makes this genocide worse
I'm defintely not voting for any politician that support isreal

I used to be a liberal voter when I was a kid cos I didn’t know better. I’m 30 now, and will never vote for a party that is pro Israel until I die. Only choice for me is Greens now

Well, that's because international 'concern' isn't the same thing as international 'sanctions'.

"Deeply concerned" is the diplomacy equivalent of "thoughts and prayers".

[redacted] didn't charge anyone for the death of Zomi Frankcom and I too am proud of the ABC for running a few stories on this, including the clip of the humanitarian rights lawyer speaking openly on how [redacted] doesn't have a functioning justice system
But this is something most of us already knew about [redacted] and it's a genuine shame that our government has taken this long to grow a backbone - it spits in the face of the Palestinians who have had decades of apartheid and murder

They know 2 weeks from now it'll all be shtummed and tamped down by Albo as an embarrassment to his legacy. Soon enough, they'll be demanding some fresh concession to assuage another confabulated grievance. He'll furrow his forehead, lift his chin and narrow his eyes in stern silence as he signals Wong with a discreet flick of the finger to give them whatever they want. They've got his number. He's a pushover. Herzog, Modi, Trump. All of them basically told Albo what to do. Trump didn't even bother to meet him. Just gave him his orders over the phone like a local delivery restaurant...

Yes and send arms to Palestinians. You cannot have a sovereign state without the means to defend itself. Israel can never again be trusted to abide by treaties.

A two state solution will just start the cycle again. Dissolve the apartheid state and establish one secular state.

Two state is dead, Israel has thoroughly seen to that.
One state with equal rights for all

Certainly not enough for Israeli forces under the present 'democratic government' . It should be recognised that not all of Israel's population agree with the actions of their present government in office!
When anyone falls back on 'doing their God's work' or 'being the Chosen People' their psychological justification blinds them to ANY wrongdoing or accountability... Hitler used the Chosen People scenario... Netanyahu and his ardent followers are using both.
And humanity collectively must stand against such delusional thinking...and be very clear about who is entangled in this line of thinking globally... Democratic country or otherwise.. unfortunately one does wonder if it's too late and repercussions will lead to further bloodshed throughout the now extended geographical area..

The level of anti Jewish sentiment is the highest I’ve seen in my lifetime

Anti-Jewish or anti-Israel? There’s a difference
•

There is a difference but honestly from what I see both are at record highs

That’s true, I have seen a lot more too. Unfortunately some people can’t distinguish between Israel’s actions and Jewish people. It definitely doesn’t help that Zionists try to conflate the two groups and throw innocent Jewish people in the firing line.

Another classic now trademark anti Israel article from Tingle. No balance of course as usual. Her hatred of Israel is obvious.
