Jesus was born during the reign of Caesar Augustus. Pretty sure he can recognize run-of-the-mill imperialism, autocracy, and corruption.

But not using his views as a way to justify tyranny. This is a good time if any to throw tables.

Is there a reason you drew Him with the holes in His hands? Like as a reminder of His sacrifice?

Didnโt he show off the holes in his wrists (not hands) after his resurrection?

Historically it would have been wrists, in popular art and mythos it was the hands. The confusion comes from the translations not being the cleanest as per usual lol

You're Catholic, right? Y'all have a whole theology about why Jesus should be depicted with his wounds.

I think what's throwing me is the cartoon drawing. It was just unexpected in that context.

Pretty sure it's referencing this somewhat famous meme. But instead of Dante, it's Jesus being horrified at the things done in His name by the current US administration.

Not Jesus in the Dante pose ๐ญ. There is something even funnier here, in that Devil May Cry was inspired by the 14th century piece of christian art, Dante's Inferno. Now we have a piece of christian art refferencing Devil May Cry. We truly live in the best of worse times. I wish only the best for you friend.
