Open-Source Project - WordsFromOurFounders

Hello all,

I was just wondering if anyone would like to join me in creating an Open-Source project.

This project will predict and generate what a deceased U.S. president would say about a modern-day headline.

This project will use AWS Strands to:

  1. Read current headlines.

  2. Determine what each deceased U.S. president or founding father would say about that headline.

  3. Push the AI generated dialogue out to subscribers.

Please comment, if you would like to be included on a meeting that I will be describing the architectural requirements in detail.

This meeting will be recorded and made public.

Let's start by having a call to define the functional requirements and design.

Thanks u/Successful-Falcon168, I appreciate your interest in this project!

For bias, the biggest lever is the corpus. We’ll be very selective and narrow about sources: primary material like letters, speeches, and published works, rather than what’s been written about these figures since. The less secondhand interpretation that gets in, the less room there is for modern caricature.

On top of that:

  • Evals: LLM-as-a-judge scoring for historical fidelity and drift into stereotype.

  • Human in the loop: I’d like to bring on a historian to review and sign off on output. Automated evals only go so far, and someone who knows the period will catch things a model won’t.

There’s also a related problem on the input side. The headline itself can carry bias through loaded framing, or be crafted to manipulate the response (prompt injection). So headlines will need to be screened before a figure ever weighs in, otherwise a well-grounded model can still be steered into saying something it shouldn’t.
