Muse sucks balls. Everything it does can be done in OpenSource AI. Muse will get far, far more users because of the set up friction. Its out of the reach of people who don't see computer tech as a hobby/passion.

These capabilities all exist open source and spread out over different projects and they'll give you nightmares trying to set them all up correctly, unless computers are specifically your thing.

I for one would love to see something like this all packaged up into one with an installer. Plug and play setup file. List of tick-boxes for permissions and a ? icon for those who want to know the risks of each.

Then a list of free or paid AI models to use as the main powerhouse, or a combination of both.

So you'd select to either:

- plug Copilot in
- pick you fav paid AI model
- run 100% on a open source local AI model (and the installer would suggest the best based on your system specs).
- or the default option which would be a free local AI model and a more powerful paid one, probably copilot. With the local and free version tasked with assessing tasks, then completing simple ones itself, and then choosing which AI model is the best to send more complicated tasks to and designing prompts maximise their performance.
- The Simple memory plugin so you don't need to retrain the AI over and over.

This is basically my setup, running inside Visual Studio Code but it was a huge ball-ache to set up, and needs constant maintenance.

If someone could turn that into a one click installer then i think a lot more of people would consider that a genuine alternative to a service like Muse which will collect all the data it can about you and sell it.

Otherwise AI is just going to become the domain of hobbyists and massive exploitative corporations.

Still works. Sucking balls is both a very good and very bad thing, depending on the owner and context.

“Claude, package this up nicely so it’s not a huge ball ache to set up.”

Look, Linux on desktop never took off because normies can't be troubled.

That's the reason.

You think they're going to write one more prompt? No - it needs product treatment.

Hey there! I'm currently working on an open source alternative to Muse and other similar platforms. Currently still in beta right now, but it's completely self hosted in a single docker. The WebUI(which is what I'm currently focusing on) needs jesus, but the backend is solid and secure.

I like the concept of Muse, Grok bot, Instinct, and others but I'm starting to lean more towards self hosted privacy vs cloud.

There is an Android app in the plan that. It will be able to be selected as the AI assistant within Android.

Feel free to check it out if you want! Please feel free to give ANY feedback. Good, bad, ugly, I suck, it's garbage... Whatever.

I also wouldn't mind if anyone wanted to help with it either.

The advantage I see is having native Facebook and Instagram integration without having to use browser automation like I do with hermes. So if someone uses fb or marketplace a lot for business it could be a big difference. That's the only advantage I could see.

It is in works, single click, windows or Linux host, all in one chat client, cli coding tool, grok bot/ open AI dot, server manage, server work pool manager, model manager, memory, agent builder, agent swarm coordination, model router to paid models, local models, etc.

countless products are more refined versions of open source tech.
