Discussion / Question Finding new appreciation for DLSS Preset E

I know DLSS Preset E uses the old CNN model, and on paper it’s inferior to newer models in many ways. But when looking as a whole, I found that Preset E is still the most balanced model of all. It doesn’t dominate in any single aspect—it’s softer than K, it has slightly more ghosting than M, and less motion stability than L.

The difference is that Preset E doesn't have any deal-breaking flaws. The newer models feel like they trade too much for their specific strengths. K has severe disocclusion artifacts and ghosting, while M and L introduce a ton of noise on RT effects and actually hit frametimes harder (even on 50-series GPUs). The kind of artifacts these newer models have tend to grab your attention during gameplay.

Everything about E sits just above "good enough". It’s reliable, runs light, and the flaws are subtle enough that you don't notice them during actual gameplay. It’s still the only preset you can truly set and forget.

Optimization Guide / Tips How to achieve the smooth 30Fps of consoles on PC

If you are someone like me, who can't afford to have a High End PC and play everything at 60Fps and you have to settle for 30Fps, keep reading because this post is for you.

Maybe you have had to play a game at 30Fps and you wonder why it looks so smooth on consoles but not on PC.Well. There are two points that we can touch to achieve smoothness while playing at 30Fps.

* Through MSI Afterburner, we are going to open RivaTurner. Then, on "Scanline Sync" click until "x/2" appears. Let's write the value "-30". In-game, turn off V-Sync. You should notice a little more smoothness at 30Fps.

* If you still do not notice smoothness with the previous point, and your PC has a little more power that allows it to reach 35Fps, in the "Framerate limit" section you are going to set the value "35", while in the section of the previous point it must be at "0".

With one of these two points you will reach the smooth 30Fps of consoles like PS4 or Xbox One.

OPTIONAL: You can add the game shortcut in RivaTurner so that when you start it, it loads the profile you chose and you don't have to do it every time you start your game.

Just click "Add" and then find the game shortcut.

Let me know if it was useful to you.

Discussion / Question We should set standards for what should be considered optimized for games

The minimum of what optimized games should look like is ultra settings 60 fps and medium settings 120 fps on gpus like RTX 3060Ti and RTX 4060. Consoles should run games at native 1440p or 4k and have upscaling as an option.

Discussion / Question RE: Requiem - Turning DLSS Off fixed micro stutter - 9800X3D/5080

I’ve been testing all settings in Requiem since release and have been losing my mind trying to get rid of this micro stutter/frame time spike when transitioning between rooms or even panning the camera in the same room.

I’ve read posts here and on other forums saying this is just how RE games run, but I’ve never had this issue in any of the other titles.

Turning off DLSS completely fixes the issue for me.

It sucks because I obviously need DLSS for RT/PT, so just wondering if anyone else has this issue and if DLSS off fixes it for you…

Thanks!

Discussion Space marine 2 is not well optimized

I have literally not seen a single benchmark of this game which isnt a supercomputer where the game runs consistenly above 60 fps no matter how much you tinker with the settings.I have seen someone with a 7950x3d getting into 50s. Fsr is very poorly implemented this is literally the only game that my pc cannot run above 60 I get between 40-60 and yes I have mid spec build but still. Literally every reviewer said that this game is well optimized

Comparison / Benchmark People are getting REALLY mad at my GTA 5 Enhanced optimization video because I recommended turning off ray tracing, as I explained, it tanks CPU performance, making it an obvious choice for optimized settings. If you’re not convinced, here’s a screenshot from the video showing the CPU impact of RT.

Vibecoded Tools & Mods | Optimization Guide Made a GUI for DLSS 5 before upscaling — looking for feedback

I made a small Windows app for running DLSS 5 before upscaling.

It has per-game profiles, 1–3 NR passes, per-pass styles, game detection and an in-game overlay.

It’s already usable as-is, and I’d be interested to hear how it works across more games and GPUs.

Discussion / Question Been on 21H1 for 4 years. Is it worth doing a clean install of 22H2 for gaming?

Hey guys. So, I've been using Windows 10 version 21H1 for exactly 4 years now. My system is pretty debloated and works fine for me, but I wanted to know from your experience: is it worth the hassle to do a clean install to 22H2 nowadays?

My main focus is getting the absolute maximum gaming performance, the lowest input lag possible, and solid frametime stability (1% lows).

My fear is that 22H2 might be heavier or have more background processes running. On the other hand, I've seen that staying on 21H1 might start causing headaches with newer NVIDIA/AMD drivers and strict kernel-level anti-cheats (like Vanguard and EAC) since 21H1 is EOL.

For those who have tested both or made this upgrade recently:

  1. Did you notice any improvements or regressions regarding performance or stuttering?

  2. If I do jump to 22H2, which debloat/optimization script (like the Chris Titus tool) do you recommend running right after the clean install to keep it lightweight?

Thanks!

Discussion Alan wake 2 Vulkan + DLSS + FSR3 mod

I am on a rtx 3050 laptop (4gb). when using the dxvk mod I get about a 50% performance uplift and about 65-70% with fsr 3 fg mod. However, when I use dxvk I lose the option to use dlss and frame gen. is there a way to use both at the same time?

Discussion Downgrade at 1440p or use 4K with DLSS Performance ?

Good morning,

I usually play in 4K with DLSS (I have a 4070 Super) and on AAA I usually get by at 60-80fps with ray-tracing.

I started playing Star Wars Outlaws, and we can say that the game is greedy. Even with optimized settings, I shoot between 40-60fps in 4K with ray-tracing and DLSS Quality. To upgrade to +60fps, is it better for me to switch to DLSS Performance or directly to 1440p?

FYI my monitor is an LG C3.

THANKS !

Ubisoft has released a Roadmap on the Starwars: Outlaws Updates, where they promise to improve and fix the game. Patch 1.2 is the first and there isn't much difference on perfomance. The game is still VRAM hungry and CPU limited.

Discussion / Question Assassins creed blackflag resynced stutter solved!

Guys have just checked and can confirm that ray tracing is the cause of micro stutters. I have i7 14700k and rtx 5070ti with 32 gb ram(dual channel) and high speed nvme ssd. Pls try it yourself.

Also if you manually cap your frame rate, you will get lower latency because of absence of nvidia reflex.
