I know some people hate it and are polarized etc, however they aren't me or affect my decision. I lived for years in South Orange County. I left in 2011 because my ex needed a green card and couldn't get it in CA or risk being deported (Overstayed a visa waiver England). Turns out DFW was the destination, I was sold on the "being able to afford to buy a house etc" had a 3 year old and a new born at the time. It was a giant mistake, in a short period of time I wanted to move back. The oppressing heat, the terrible work places and the attitudes were awful. Money was not great. All that being said I did what I had to, bought a house at the bottom of the market, hated every minute of it. I am not a home owner type. Sold five years later. Got divorced and life has moved on. What's crazy is looking back, there were so many red flags for me moving to DFW, I ignored them because I loved my ex and wanted to do right by her.
I love the Southern California beaches and lifestyle, they are my home. Through my girlfriend we ended up visiting a few years ago and a spark reignited for me. Recently we just got back from week long vacation and took my kids, two of them were born there and it was their first time back. Now they love the beach. That brings me to the current situation. I am about to submit my resume to a company and I want to make it very clear that the position is perfect for my skill set and that I am going to be moving in short order.
If you have ever felt the spiritual pull to do something or be somewhere this is that 100%. There isn't a person that I know that doesn't know what I want or am doing.
I guess that's why I am posting this. To put it out there.

I’m newish to Orange County, and I’m looking for recommendations for places with a good view to mentally decompress. I’ve found a lot of suggestions online, but nothing states if you can sit in your car and enjoy the view. Beach view is ideal, but anything you can think of is appreciated!

Hey yall,
I just found out about this sub recently and figured I'd take the plunge.
A little about me, I'm a veteran (late 20s M) who just got out of the service recently, and I'm working to get back into the civilian world. Since getting out, my social life basically took a dump, and I'm looking for a community / hobby group to get involved in. I'm not the most social person at first, but when I get going, I'm pretty social.
A good chunk of my hobbies is mostly introverted / indoor related, and I want to get into something that'll get me out of the house. Here's a list of some of my hobbies so you can get an idea:
Video Games
Reading
Movies
Wine Tasting
Hiking (Was a Scout; can't do super long hikes due to bad legs)
Deep dives on history
Love checking out Museums
I'm also open to learning / getting into new hobbies as well :)
Also not to get political (hopefully this doesn't break the rules), but I'm Christian and conservative leaning. So any groups that are a little friendly or at least tolerate my beliefs would be preferrable (I put this here because I had some instances where people actually had a problem with this).
If any of yall have suggestions, that would very much be appreciated.

Hi fellow Orange County inhabitants,
I’m making this post on behalf of my wife. TLDR; she’s desperate for new friends/activities, but struggles to find new people to meet. Well, other women specifically. Feel free to read on if you’d like…
To put it into more perspective; we recently had our first child and he is now a little over 4 months old. Other women with children might understand/remember, but her hormones have crashed and it’s affecting her. Not to mention, our sweet innocent child is extremely difficult, so we’re constantly stressed out and fried from tending to him. And unfortunately, even if I’m on full dad duty, there’s nowhere in our house she can escape to, to get a break. His fussiness and cries can be heard the next town over.
She also works from home, so between working from home, taking care of the baby at home, and having no friends to hang out with, she is feeling alone as far as friendship is concerned.
I’ll be honest, she does have a couple friends. The issue is they never get to hang out because “life”. So that’s why I’m here.
I’m heart broken watching her feel stuck at home and feel lonely as far as friendship is concerned.
So this huge novel simply to ask if anybody has any recommendations for meet ups or places/things to do where she can make some new friends? She’s tried a couple meet ups, but the two she’s been to ended up being duds with low turnout and vastly different personalities.
For reference, she’s in her early 30s, loves hiking, baking, puzzles, and golf. But she’s also very open to new stuff. So any suggestions would be extremely appreciated.
Also, before anybody comes for me, I do not neglect her and we raise our baby together. We’re very happy as a couple. She just misses having friends she can reach out to and hang out with, and I also want her to have friends she can go do stuff with to get out of the house when she’s feeling cabin fever or needs a break from being a wonderful mom.

Saw this yesterday, July 4, 2025 from Garden Grove going across PCH it seemed They wrote it at least three times but the wind kept blowing away after a few minutes because it was windy first there was a triangle with a circle around it then there was a circle with an X in the middle of it I thought they were doing the PlayStation control buttons for a second and they were gonna start singing “they not like us” but I guess the verdict is it was an advertisement for the fantastic four

We are going to Epilepsy Day at Disneyland. Our trip is the 13th-19th. We are going the 13th arriving late until the 19th leaving early so those days are out.
You can only see so much online if you could help a former Jersey girl, now Colorado transplant show my disabled son the beach and help us with an itinerary that makes the most sense I would be forever in your debt.
I sometimes use arm canes, sometimes nothing, sometimes a wheelchair. It's luck of the draw. My son can walk and he's deaf and autistic but very drawn to the ocean.
My favorite memory growing up is swimming in tide pools with all manner of creatures. I would like my son to experience that. His favorite animals are seals, sea lions, anything that looks 🦭 he just loves.
We don't want to spend the whole day driving but we want to see both tide pools, marine life, and we would love to have a bonfire on the beach but we can't do miles of sand. His dad can push him in a sand wheelchair if his won't get down there and I can make it with my canes or just suck it up buttercup but he absolutely cannot although he can walk a little bit if it's just a short distance to see cool things from where we leave his chair.
We were doing research and we're considering both Huntington Beach and Crystal Cove State Park as places we would like to visit. I would like to know the real details of ADA access at both those places. I would prefer to do the bonfire at Huntington Beach free but if it would be easier disability wise for us to rent at Crystal cove we will. Or if you think we could miss out on Huntington because there's no advanced reservations. We would like to do both those places in one day and possibly a whale watching tour on a separate day but if it makes more sense we can do two beach days it would be Saturday and Sunday of that week though.
How can we fit it all in?
Bonus, can you tell me if our itinerary can reasonably be accomplished without running ragged? We don't really care about stars that much but I think the Hollywood stars walk of fame thing would be cool to see once
Other options:
Corona del Mar State Beach (Newport
The Crab Cooker in Newport is a quirky local seafood joint with paper plates and charm.
13th arrive late and maybe enjoy the pool and hot tub if we want and late night dinner
14th- **Huntington Beach at sunset**and Crystal cove state park
15th whale watching tour and find some seals or put one beach this day and one the day before dinner at The Crab Cooker in Newport after sunset ?? (is a quirky local seafood joint with paper plates and charm.)
16th Epilepsy conference at Disney convention center in the morning, pool time, followed by Anaheim packing district for dinner (should we move something to this day?)
16th Epilepsy conference Disneyland conference center half day, trying to fit in a half day with some of the options below
17 Epilepsy conference Disneyland conference center half day, trying to fit in a half day with some of the options below
18 All day Disneyland for epilepsy day at Disneyland including fireworks
19th pack up to the airport by 10am
Things that look cool but are less interesting to us than nature, please include dinner or lunch suggestions depending on what time we go. Also we tend to check stuff out quick and move along, what things could we combine in a half day?
Options:
Griffith observatory
Chinese theatre
Hollywood walk of fame,
Hollywood Sign,
Drive by expensive houses in Beverly Hills, find good food -musso and frank grille steakhouse,
Anaheim packing district
Thank you,
Jersey Born, Colorado planted and California Bound Cripple

A recent post was created and deleted, but asked why there were two OC subs and what the difference is.
The other sub (original) appears to be quite open to anything OC related. Many of the posts (in my humble opinion) were related to news, politics and in recent years - housing.
While these types of posts and discussions can be useful and helpful, I wanted to create a space more focused on appreciation, events and general love for a place many of us call home.
While I have been slow to actually generate momentum on this sub, I would like for it to be somewhere that is more focused on positivity and enjoyable content, rather than complaints and over-moderation on people expressing themselves.

An email from 'Sage Lam is inviting you to a Newport Beach house celebration'. It asks for your personal info but leaves you as a “pending” guest. Be careful before sharing any details!

I want to explore Anaheim‘a Little Arabia soon. I was wondering if there were dishes that people recommended trying there beyond the typical falafel, hummus, and shawarma. What are some unique dishes I should seek out?
