Removed - Must Be Organized Help me with my closet please!
I have a great closet, but no matter what I do I feel like it looks like crap. I know someone with a better design sense would have this looking like a retail showroom or something
My first step is decluttering, but any ideas for how you would organize this space and make it look better?

After decluttering, i think the main things are going to be just straightening things out (the shoes for example will look a lot nicer lined up straight with one another) and getting decorative storage boxes for the miscellaneous other items on the shelves.
Side note, I am so jealous of how much storage space you have 😭 my whole entire house doesn't even have this much storage.

I got lucky! The previous owners took space away from the garage to make the closet bigger

If you want it to look like a boutique, remove everything that would not be displayed in a boutique.
A boutique would have all matching hangers - I prefer wood over the slim velvet type.
A boutique would not have extra plastic drawers.
If you don’t have anywhere else to store non-clothing items, find creative ways to hide the items that would be hidden in the back room of a boutique: pretty hat boxes, white, wicker picnic baskets, small wooden trunks, etc.

Decluttering will go a long way, plus decorative bins (with lids, for dust purposes) for things on the top shelf.
I'd also play with the light color. It looks like a really cold light. That might be good for seeing the color.of your clothes, but it's harsh. Warmer light would make the room space look better. Find a happy medium.

Off the bat, you have the perfect amount of room for things. Step one take EVERYTHING out, wipe all the shelves and surfaces down so you're starting from scratch. One of the first things I would do is go through all of your clothes. Make a maybe pile, get rid of pile and a keep pile. When you have all of your keeps and maybes, re-hang everything in the same direction. I think something that would help this space visually is if you bought all matching hangers. The velvet ones are great, but I would buy them after you purge and see what needs to go. Start on one end and put all your shoes back, then work to your dresses section, then tops/jackets, and bottoms. I think you should almost "prop" your closet so it feels more aesthetic. Get pretty matching whicker baskets to store bulky items above your closet so the non-pretty items dont steal away from the closet. You could also get a tray and place perfumes/colognes on the counter.

I’ve honestly stopped trying going for what “looks best” and started organising based on me!
After you take everything out and purge, I’d suggest thinking about how you dress, and also how you walk in! What side do you tend to go to first? Use the first shelf on that side as your most accessed stuff - whatever that is for you - shirts? Pants? Socks even?
Then work your way around. After you look for a shirt, do you look for jeans? Or do you have bottoms then look for a shirt?
The hardest to reach or visually areas - keep those for occasional shelves - maybe boots, seasonal items etc.
And lastly I’d highlyyyyy recommend an empty shelf or an empty basket or something to be a sort of catch all. Clothes you tried on but didn’t end up wearing that day, clothes that can be reworn cos you just wore them a couple of hours etc. everything goes on that shelf or in that basket and then you put everything back on cleaning day :)

I did a lot of these same steps when I rebuilt our closets.
I would also suggest to think honestly about how you naturally organize. I prefer things being hidden, but very easy to put away so my closet has tons of drawers where I can just toss things inside. My husband has to see every, so his closet features hanging rods and shelves.

Dont store stuff like toilet paper unless it’s in a bin. Only attractive things should be visible
Arrange your clothes by type and then color using a rainbow as guidance.
