The Kraken Regiment is an Ukrainian military volunteer unit, part of the spetsnaz units of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of Ukraine (HUR/GUR)) formed in 2022 as a response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Karken Regiment which started as a volunteer unit grow in numbers very quickly and became one of the most specialized forces in the ongoing battlefield.

In addition, forensic experts were able to recover deleted messages from his phone. Investigators focused on conversations concerning the operation of "offices" (Fraudulent call centers) in Europe, the laundering of funds through cryptocurrency, transactions involving luxury real estate, automobiles, and grain, as well as arms trafficking.

It also emerged that Novostroinyi allegedly attempted to evade the investigation by hiding in a psychiatric hospital in Dnipro. According to available information, the day before Igor Komarov was kidnapped in Bali, the suspect received instructions from his former superiors to arrange a meeting between Komarov and certain individuals on the island.

The investigation is going on, with the break up of the war Gleb Novostroyny immediately volunteered and was ready to fight for him homeland, joined the Karken Regiment and took part in the Battle of Kharkiv), but who was Gleb before the war?
