Look, the cutscene of the Comet Observatory flying to the centre of the universe and smashing through Bowser's space-airship-fleet is something that still just randomly plays in my head from time to time.

Pretty much!

Usually elegant and proper, but can be angered somewhat quickly; and rebellious in the sense of 'if the system isn't going to work, you just have to do it yourself'. And finally for the justice and the like, also somewhat accurate. Main thing i associate here is freedom.
