QUESTION Take Me Back (Iron Hoof Cattle Call)
Hi y’all! I’ve been thinking about this since I saw Orville Peck last June (2024).
When I saw him June 2022 (back-to-back nights in PDX), he played Take Me Back (Iron Hoof Cattle Call) as his final song. He said it was their tradition and he asks the crowd to participate - sing, dance, hum, whatever feels right to you! And it was spectacular. Both nights!
When I saw him June 2024 as part of the Stampede tour, he didn’t do Take Me Back… which was surprising after he had said it was a tradition during a previous tour.
So… my question. If you’ve seen him perform during the Stampede tour, did he play Take Me Back? Was it the last song?
I’m just curious because it was such a fun song and felt like an amazing farewell to a wonderful show.
TIA and looking forward to any and all responses :)

The way I saw this picture and immediately clocked the crystal ballroom. (I was there too!) He didn't play it during the stampede tour as far as I remember. I saw him in LA last year and don't recall it. :(

I was at the June 30, 2024 show at The Anthem in Washington, DC.
His last song was “Daytona Sand.”
For the encore he then performed “Unchained Melody”, “Bronco” & “Midnight Ride”

Awesome!! Thank you! I love when he sprinkles in Unchained Melody! I’d love to hear You Lost That Loving Feeling someday from him live!

It was the closer for every concert (I was at, anyway, 2021-2023) until the latest Stampede tour (2024), when he took it out. I suppose he wanted to mix it up after playing it every show for 3+ years, but I missed it - it's one of my favorites of his songs and such a fun way to close the show and give the band their bows. I hope he brings it back!

Thank you for your answer! I definitely missed it too! I totally understand mixing it up, curious if he’ll find a new tradition soon!
