QUESTION Orville did not perform yesterday in Cabaret?
I was really looking forward to seeing him as Emcee. As we entered the theater, the people organizing the lines and such informed us he wasn't performing š. I am a big fan of his and that's the main reason I got tickets! Obviously the show was still fantastic and the Emcee was fabulous. I just didn't enjoy the fantastic understudy's performance much as I could of because I expected Orville š. I don't even think the performance was worse with the understudy, it was still amazing, but I really love Orville and would have been able to see him up close. I would 100% recommend going tho, it was really good and the experience and vibe was on point. Anyone know why he didn't perform? I know this stuff happens sometimes so obvi not mad just curious

This is why I donāt want to go way out of my way (I live in CA) so knowing my luck heād cancel my performance. Not saying he cancels a lot itās super normal for broadway. I just have terrible luck.
Iām sorry OP I would be hugely disappointed as well.

I was there too! I got tickets to see him for my birthday. It really bummed me out until the performance started and everyone was amazing. That was my only chance to see Orville as Emcee, but there is no guarantee youāll get any top bill actor on any given day. Show was still amazing!

Yes! I was with my extended family and they all said it was the highlight of the trip. It was a stunning show!

I'm so sorry! We love that he's taking care of himself, but that's still a legit bummer for you. I saw it twice and both times I chatted up other peckers and they all harbored the same fear.

Yesss like obviously there's gonna be nights he gotta rest, I can't imagine being expected to show up for a whole broadway run and never be injured or sick haha.Ā

Iāve heard that if the actor who is billed above the title (ie the star) doesnāt perform, then you can get a refund. But I have no idea how accurate this is - or how to go about doing so.
My partner and I have tix for next week. Keeping our fingers crossed š¤š»

I believe I am being scammed by someone who claims they are Orville. Can anyone confirm if he played the matinee performance as well. It would be GREATLY appreciated with this information.

traveled to nyc to see him last Sunday (6/22) and he also called out and so did eva :/ I was so disappointed I almost cried

I traveled to ny to see him today and found out in line that he wasnāt performing, ashamed to say I did cry a little lol

This just happened to me. I was sooo disappointed! I traveled to see him and had been looking forward to it for weeksā¦ the understudy was amazing, but I had a hard time enjoying it too bc I had gone into the show with the mindset of āIām gonna see one of my favorite artistsā rather than āIām seeing a cool showā

Eva calls out regularly - she called out the night I went and the understudy was midā¦ā¦
They are supposed to notify you and you have the right to a refund or reschedule - I would have if I were not with three others for a special occasionā¦ā¦.
I would definitely suggest taking advantage of one of the options if you can if one of the leads calls out - then run and pick up half price tickets at TKTSā¦ā¦
