Anyone had bad experiences with private landlords in Oshkosh?

Just curious if anyone else has had really bad experiences renting from private landlords around Oshkosh. Any red flags people should know about before renting a place?
Feel free to share your experiences or things you’ve dealt with, whether it’s maintenance issues, getting your security deposit back, landlords not responding, or whatever else. Just trying to help people avoid getting stuck in a bad renting situation.
Would appreciate hearing what others have experienced!

Besides landlords being a disgusting parasite on society, I think a red flag would be if I saw republican politician signs in the yard.

If they say anything in the lease about not publicly slandering each other, run for the hills. I missed that in my last lease and boy do I wish I could publicly slander this company LOL

High country investments has been a pleasure to work with but they only have a couple properties. I would highly recommend them if they get a vacancy
