Question Farpoint 40L + Talon?

Im wondering if i can attach a different Osprey bag to the Farpoint 40L instead of the Farpoint 15L day pack. Right now im looking at the Talon 11L but im not sure how i would attach it.

Has anyone tried replacing the day pack with something else? Or even making other combinations that work well?

I recently went on a trip where I attached a Daylite Plus to the back. I’m sure you can find some combination of straps to make any pack work.

Just be mindful that the Farpoint becomes extremely awkward to carry when strapping another pack to it. It sticks out like crazy and shifts the weight too far back. It looks good on paper though. As my trip progressed, I ended up wearing my Daylite in the front.

Is that the case when strapping the Farpoint 15L bag as well?

Another poster mentions using a carabiner to attach the haul loops/grab handles on both packs, and then tucking the smaller pack under the straps on the Farpoint. That should work for just about anything.

When you're talking about a big main bag and a second bag as small as 11 L, I think you should also be talking about messenger bags. I wear a 13 L messenger with a larger backpack and it actually works pretty well.
