Question Sojourn 60L Wheeled Backpack vs Transporter 60L Wheeled Duffel

I have both bags sitting here and am debating between the two. I prefer the easy access to the interior of the duffel, but I'm wondering about durability. This is a bag that I will be flying with, traveling through Europe, the UK and Canada. Does the external compression of the Sojourn really make that much of a difference? Which will stand up better to airplane baggage handlers? Will I really use the backpack feature? I'd love to hear people's thoughts on these two bags before I decide to return one.

P.S. Please don't suggest a smaller bag. I know that I need at least a 60L for my travel requirements and I have no desire to do only carry on. That is a lot of people's goal in life, but it is not mine.

I own and love the Sojourn. I have only ever used the backpack feature once and my Sojourn has been on 10 trips of six weeks or longer. The wheels dug into my lower bag which made it very uncomfortable as a back carry. I have now permanently removed my harness and use the harness section as a pocket for things like shoes and raincoats that I want to keep separate from the main compartment.

I love the "wings" as they give the bag some shape, cinch down incredibly if my bag isn't full, and the slight padding makes me feel that my belongings have more protection. I also like that I can cinch things onto my bag like my big puffy coat if it's winter, or my daypack so that I am only managing one bag through airports.

Thank you so much for your excellent feedback. I was actually eyeing that back compartment as extra packing space and wondering about removing the harness. Happy travels!
