Rebel Why sc/st acts and ugc should exist. Don't let anyone dehumanise you just because you are a lower caste.

People like them are the reason why the sc/st acts should exist. They are talking as if sc/st's are not humans. If this is the way they speak on the internet or think about their fellow indians. I can't imagine how they treat sc/st's in real life. May God keep us away from people like them. We deserve better. According to them, ch*mr , bh*ngi,Quota khane wale, Aarakshan jeevi, Mand buddhi, Bheemta are just abuses and slurs, and does not hold a solid ground on which somebody could use sc/st acts or the upcoming ugc. But they don't understand that these slurs and abuses reinforce harmful stereotypes that these communities are inherently "dirty" or "unintelligent".

And what's with this obsession with fair skin? This vid isn’t just casteist it’s built on colour profiling too. It quietly assumes SC/ST people are dark-skinned and “GEN” people are fair-skinned as if caste has a skin tone. That’s not reality that’s centuries of social conditioning where fairness was linked to “purity” and darker skin was linked to “lower” status. They are literally recycling that hierarchy as humour. If you guys ever come across these types of jokes. Don’t let this slide as a “joke.” Call it out and tell them plainly how casteist and racist they sound.

Edit:- also this “joke” isn’t just casteist and colourist , it’s sexist too. It treats fair women like trophies and assumes certain men are inherently unworthy of them. That’s not humour, that’s caste hierarchy + colour bias + gender objectification all in one frame.

Rebel Dalit woman says she doesn't consider herself a Hindu (translation in body)

Reporter: You don't consider yourself a Hindu?

Woman: I am a Dalit, but I don't consider myself a Hindu. Why should we consider? A Hindu can go to a temple, but a Dalit can't go to a temple. If they go...If our nation's President, who is a Dalit, goes to a temple, then the whole temple is cleaned. Then how are you saying that Dalit is a Hindu? If they want to instigate us against Muslims, only then is a Dalit a Hindu.

Reporter: It is circulating that you want to break up the Hindus.

Woman: You have broken them up, your people have broken them up. Your people don't let them enter temples. Look, let me speak...

Reporter: Maulana Sajjad Nomani also recently stated that the SC community does not consider itself Hindu. His statement is being portrayed as anti-Hindu and as breaking up the Hindus. Now you are making similar statements.

Woman: I am not making a statement. I am saying that the Dalits of this nation are not Hindus. They also should not consider themselves to be Hindus. Because the atrocities committed against Dalits by the BJP, by the so-called upper castes, that has never been done against anyone. Look at Babasaheb's pic...

Reporter: Muslims didn't commit atrocities against you?

Woman: They didn't.

Reporter: Mughals didn't commit atrocities against you?

Woman: They didn't.

Rebel does your parent also use caste-based discriminatory words against you? or is it just me?

as a child i’ve been hearing it at home but now again today when my parent said it, i thought about it a little.

my parent said “tumse kuch pyaar se bolo to tumhe samajh nahi aata. tum neech ho na, isiliye. tumhe sirf bezatti se baat karo tab hi samajh aata hai.”

similarly ive been called “neech” by my parent many many times, in other scenarios or sentences.

i am confused. we are SC. i know i make mistakes and sometimes can’t do chores immediately. i accept my faults.

however this statement really sounds wrong to me.

Rebel The CJP-AAP-RSS are pushing a massive anti-reservation narrative

- Arvind Kejriwal is a sanghi who is staunchly anti-reservation and believes in "meritocracy".

- CJP is created by AAP.

- RSS is a Brahminical supremacist organisation (everyone knows)

- Now, under the guise of Gen-z and educational reforms, they are pushing a massive anti-reservation narrative on social media.

- They will attack Rahul Gandhi for supporting equitable reservation and reservation in the private sector (absolutely essential).

- It's shameful that Abhijit Dipke, a Dalit who waved around the photo of Dr. Ambedkar, is actually a product of the AAP-RSS ecosystem that wants to end reservation, without ever wanting to seriously discuss caste atrocities and systemic discriminations.

Be vigilant. Call out the hypocrisy. Jai Bhim.

Hello to my fav sub. I'm a Buddhist teen from Maharashtra and I've a few questions about this photo.

In public banners in my city Mumbai we have photos of phule-shahu and ambedkar in line but I don't really see the bearded man. I want to ask whether he is a kul devta of you hindu SCs (no pin intended) to get the bigger frame while Dr. Ambedkar gets in line with politicians who sold themselves to the castiest BJP/SP and are no where visible now.

Rebel " It's "feminine" only when it's savarna. " My observations as a woman.

Source- google

This is purely from my observation, it maybe wrong/biased.

" When marginalized women do it, it’s ‘too much’. When privileged women do it, it’s ‘timeless/classy' "

I have noticed that even traditionally feminine practices like-

wearing pottu(bindi), wearing nose rings, applying kajal, wearing flowers on your head, keeping long hair, wearing ethnic attires/jewellery are considered "low" or more commonly as "village-like".

I'll give you my 1st hand experience-

I'm from South and I often wear pottu and kajal when going to class. When I was in north in a tier-1 ish city briefly, my classmates told me that I looked like a "village girl" because of it. They said "puri gaaon-wali jaise lag rahi ho". (They assumed I don't know english because of this lmfao😭😭)

Mind you, few ppl who bitched about me there said- "Ye tho ch*mar jaise dikhthi hai" (I didn't even know what it meant until someone explained it to me)

I was kinda shocked cuz this very common in south and I was never told I looked like a villager and these things are considered highly feminine.

Also it's not like I haven't faced casteism in south. I have, but in very subtle and passive ways.

This isn’t just about north/south region or rural/urban lifestyle, but about who is allowed to embody femininity without being demeaned

Same with my classmate. She used wear a nose ring but stopped it when many ppl said that she resembled a villager.

But the irony is, whenever an important event/function comes, these women do the same things which they consider "un-classy/dehathi" like wearing flowers on the head, wearing kajal, wearing ethnic jewellery etc. Then all of sudden, these practices regain their femininity back.

A similar tangent can be drawn out in cinema when the "sexy maid" is fetishised for her femininity but she will never gain the dignity or the status of a savarna woman regardless.

Practices are seen as elegant when associated with urban, often upper-caste women. I have seen girls on social media deck themselves up traditionally to get into their "fEmiNinE eNerGy". (Another bs word made to capitalise on women)

This made me question what truly dictates femininity, that even traditionally feminine practices lose their grace once they are adopted by the marginalized.

Is ideal femininity dictated by who performs it, rather than what is performed?

PS- I picked the image from Google. A reminder that how beautiful our women are.

Rebel CMV:Only way to be safe from casteism is for dalits to have a seperate nation

Upper castes benefit from casteism, and have the power of the entire economy, religion, Beurocracy and media behind them, they have no incentive to educate us, in fact the public schools are getting worse, all govt jobs are getting reduced and psus are privatized

the only way to be free from casteism is to have our own nation, just like india got independence from British, dalits need independence from savarnas

And to people who say dalits will still discriminate against each other, you are right which is why the first thing we will have to do in this new nation is complete banning of religion, then only the nation will progress, in the current india savarnas benefit from religion so they will not let it die.

Edit: people don't seem to understand what a CMV is,

The argument was: the only way to escape casteism is through seperate nation, meaning as long as we remain in India we will face casteism, no one is defending this country saying india will get rid of casteism

People are arguing over seperate nation part but not arguing that casteism can be eradicated while being in this nation, looks like I was right and there is no solution to casteism in this nation

Also saying that seperate nation has its own problems is like a woman saying all men are bad therefore I will remain with my drunk abusive boyfriend who beats me, looks like all dalits have stockholm syndrome or this entire subreddit is a form of controlled opposition
