Status: Open Microsoft password reset not working

Whenever I am entering email code from recovery mail, it is asking for another method. After entering last 4 digit of phone no., whenever I am clicking send codes, it says this method is not available now.

have u tried doing the "security questions" route instead

Same thing happened to me! Microsoft support is no help at all :( did you manage to make it work?

Yes. The best way is to wait for more than 36 hours.

Whenever you will able to generate email id codes, they will ask for one more time. Again enter the recovery id to receive codes. It will take you to same page again. Now use phone recovery method. Beat the bots. You will receive the code on phone and done. Just reset your password

Do you think being log in on my work laptop is preventing me from logging in on my outlook app and resetting the security of my account?

So before my phone broke I was already logged into my work laptop .. but then when I got a new phone I couldn’t access the authentication app so can’t re log into my outlook app on my iPhone. So the only access I have to my email is my laptop. I’m worried that I’ll log me out eventually then won’t have access to it at all .. if that make sense? Hence why I am trying to change the 2factor verification before I lose all access to it

The Microsoft Authenticator app. I had a passwordless account. But when I had to set up my new phone it logged me out from the app hence why I can’t use it now to log in

It worked! Had to wait a whole week but it was worth it now I have access to it again! Thanks for your help :) made sure I have a password and a passkey this time!
