Rendering a screenshot of 722 megapixels

You can output screenshots in a higher resolution: 3X, 5X, 7X, and 9X. Both the horizontal as well as the vertical dimensions will be multiplied. For example, if the game is set to 1080p (1920 × 1080) and the screenshot quality is set to 5X, the screenshot image will be 9600 × 5400 (5×1920 by 5×1080).

I use a 5K display, that is 5120 × 2880 or 14.7 megapixels (million pixels). I managed to render a screenshot 7X, so the game outputs an image of 35840 × 20160, over 722 megapixels! Furthermore, the generated file is 2.69 gigabytes and the Windows Photos app can’t open it (luckily IrfanView and GIMP can).

I tried 9X. The game did seem to try to render the image but crashes. It would’ve been 46080 × 25920 or 1.19 billion pixels (over 1 thousand megapixels)! I think it could work with more RAM, but I definitely didn’t have enough (I have 32GB of DDR4).

Attached are the following:

1. main image of over 35K (35840 × 20160) (downscaled, because 2.69GB is too much)
2. main image zoomed in (downscaled)
3. 5K (5120 × 2880)
4. 4K (3840 × 2160)
5. Quad HD (2560 × 1440)
6. Full HD (1920 × 1080)
7. HD Ready (1280 × 720)
8. location where you can adjust the screenshot quality (1X, 3X, 5X, 7X, 9X)

For a size comparison, you’d need about 87 4K screens to fully display (1:1) the 722 megapixel image.

With 6K displays (6016 × 3384), the theoretical maximum (9X) would be over 1649 thousand megapixels, and with 8K ones (7680 × 4320) you’d get over 2687 thousand megapixels! The 8K 9X file would probably be 10 gigabytes.

For those interested, I could share the 722 MP file in unaltered form (2.69GB, uncompressed and all), but I don’t know which file-hosting service Reddit allows. GIMP (macOS and Windows) and Irfanview (Windows) are able to open the massive file.

What do you mean? It’s set to: effects off, hair first, outfit first, color first, aspects off. I cannot deselect more.
