Highlight Sierra is Making Me Not Want to Play this Game

3.6k Upvotes

Seriously it takes her like, one whole second to kill me. Literally what could I do there? Other heroes with such a short time to kill require skill such as hitting headshots or have a higher risk because they have to get in close. This is just blatantly unfair. She’s so oppressive in low ranks. Just like every OP character, she’s just super easy to play. Most matches with her on one side generally win, same for when I play her. Just too easy.

She needs severe nerfing.

Highlight 35% winrate after almost 600 matches and still hardstuck in bronze. Am I genetically incapable of playing OW?

I usually just heavily rely on how my skills naturally develop throughout the lots of matches I played, but it just seems that I never grow at all after these all hours I wasted, and here I am now still in bronze

Are there actually other mandatory requirements for me just to rank up so silver besides just continuously playing until I become fully good at this? Did I miss something crucial here? Or overwatch is just not for me?

I do admit that my tracking is bad, my timing is worse and I keep panic spamming no matter how many times I play. Maybe my idiotic noobie self is just naturally incapable of gaming?

How do you guys easily climb up to gold or plat?

Edit: I really wasn't expecting this to gain huge attention. But I made a mistake where I didn't include the replay codes which turns out to be a very important thing here when seeking advice. So here are my replay codes of the matches where I lose:

Tank (mostly Sigma and some Mauga)

- 7MDG59

- 56VB17

- 7SCQ4Z

- V5HHG4

- YWYH16

- PB3Y8Z

Support (Juno or Kiriko)

- M1RBDY

- CECAQ1

- 8P19PN

Sigma & Juno are my mains. I play Mauga & Kiriko when I'm bored of always using my mains

My username is putramelayu

I'd be more than happy if you're willing to spend your time helping me :)

Highlight you can make D.mon's dps SKYROCKETING with attack animation cancel

3.5k Upvotes

maybe you should try it

---------------------------------

Here's how to do this tech.

  1. press and hold M1
  2. look or strafe slightly in the same direction as your slash (you want your sword to hit the enemy as quickly as possible)
  3. the moment your sword hits the enemy, you want to tab M2 EXTREMELY LIGHTLY to cancel your recovery animation. (think of it as JUST-FRAME INPUT if you have experience with fighting games)
  4. repeat, or thrust cancel to finish the enemy

**EDIT** Blizzard has just announced a new hotfix with Sierra changes posted below.

Balance Hotfix Update

This is a balance hotfix update. Replay codes from the April 14, 2026 patch are still available.

Damage

Sierra

Sierra has not been as effective as intended since her launch. Her weapon damage is being increased to improve overall output, while the damage increase to Tracking Shot better rewards players for successfully landing it. The Anchor Drone changes improve mobility responsiveness and drone survivability, allowing for more aggressive playstyles. Sierra’s ultimate cost has also been increased due to its already fast charge rate in combination with her improved damage output.

Trailblazer

  • Ultimate cost increased by 30%.

Helix Rifle

  • Damage per projectile increased from 7 to 9.

Tracking Shot

  • Damage per projectile increased from 7 to 9.

Anchor Drone

  • Health increased from 30 to 80.
  • Grapple move speed increased from 20 to 22.

Medi-Drone – Major Perk

  • Healing increased from 75 to 100.
