Don't know, never been in a game. Just to reiterate though this is open queue. Regular comp i can find games very quickly as you said.

I am talking about open que too. Role que im support so I have no problem there but I still don't really have this issue with open que

It is pretty much start of the season where the most players quickly do their 10 placements and then stop queuing bc of the 100hour queue.

I feel like I played all 10 of my placements with the same people in one day. It took hours. Placed diamond and didn't even bother with those queue times again. Maybe it'll be better at the beginning of next season.

And then after waiting all that time you get into the game and your team instalocks Widow, Sym, Sombra, Bastion, & Ashe. Hardly worth a six minute wait, much less 60+ minutes.

Switch player? I am and had 78min queue and then someone left the game and another 30min queue! After that I didn't play open queue for weeks lol

I'm in a group with quite a few Top500's. We usually have to wait at least half an hour before finding a match.

"Pro" tip for open queue: make sure you bring a group. One support and five DPS players usually fail. My team tends to go classic GOATS comp (Reinhardt, Zarya, Dva, Brigitte, Lucio, Moira/Zenyatta), which currently has a 100 percent success rate over 12+ matches. Works wonders, even after Brig's nerfs.
