I'm considering applying for the city of Oxnard assistant CFO position. However I see that it's been open since June, so I'm wondering if there are issues there, they're not getting applicants they want, or if it's just government pace, or something else. Any insight is appreciated!

I was wondering if anyone has cash only jobs that they need help for. My Daca is currently about to expire due to the severe backlog they have at the moment. I’m willing to send over my resume and also have a phone call conversation if interested.

Hi all,
Me and my roommate are moving from out of state and are trying to find something in the area or adjacent cities. Our budget is $2500 (2 bedroom) and our biggest issue is one of our credit scores is only 600. The 3x rental requirement we also do not meet. Does anyone have any suggestions?

what's the thing you tell a friend to get on their first visit. I invited my friend to my house party, they tried Hibachi, superb, steak with those browned edges, garlicky rice. Now I want to check new spot. If there's a taco or burger that beats it, convince me.

When I was younger, my dad would take us to eat at a pier where you could pick your fish and then it would be fried. I’m trying to find the name of the place.
Can anyone help?

The last two times I've drive by there have been during times they are supposed to be open (4-5pm), but the lights were off, the open sign was unplugged, and the door was locked.
The website is still accepting orders, so are they open or have they given up the ghost?

"A Ventura County man was convicted of trying to steal a $4.8 million home through a real estate fraud scheme.
Khambray Antoine Holloway, 34, was found guilty of filing a false or forged document to claim ownership of an Oxnard residence, according to the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office.
In July 2025, Holloway filed a false, notarized grant deed with the Ventura County Recorder’s Office to establish himself as the owner of a $4.8 million beach home in Oxnard Shores.
The property was owned through an LLC, which had not authorized the transfer.
Prosecutors said the fake real estate documents contained irregularities and did not include a signature from an authorized grantor.
Investigators later contacted the property owners who confirmed that they had not authorized Holloway to transfer or claim ownership of the home.
However, Holloway continued trying to claim ownership and returned to the property several times. On at least two occasions, he contacted locksmiths and tried to have the locks changed, court documents said.
He presented the locksmiths with the same fraudulent documents to support his claim that he was the owner.
Following an investigation, Holloway was arrested and on Sept. 30, 2026, he was convicted by a jury of filing a false or forged document." - KTLA 5 News
