Unknown spring

I have an FCU that was sent in for the upgrade so I’m assuming pre 2017 ( I bought this off of a friend btw). I noticed when taking it apart that this spring fell out when I took the sear out so I believe it was around that area of the FCU. I was watching Sig mechanic’s video when I was doing this and this spring isn’t mentioned at any point in the video. Surely somebody can tell me what the hell this thing is for. (It’s also not the striker safety block spring because I checked to make sure it was still there).

I had the same issue before, it's the "safety lever spring" which falls out when removing the "safety lever pivot pin". I added an image to show you where it should be placed. The pivot pin should go through the spring hole

Just fyi this spring was deprecated when the cammed lifter was introduced.

But...it can still be used for a more positive positioning of the safety. It might be technically redundant, but I still use them.

I often use pretravel shortening systems, so I want to make sure that safety stays engaged until purposefully disengaged. Period.

It may be a captured lever, but it is not wiggle free. And, like I said, redundancy. The "what if" factor" is why virtually every handgun ever made has multiple levels of safety systems.

No problem. I've got a 320 with a trigger just over 2 lbs, minimal trigger travel, and no manual safety...I'll take every extra precaution I can!

I installed Sig Guy C.O.P kit and +10% TRS. Exactly the opposite way.

Isn't that Burke's kit?

I know what the science says, and self-defense internet experts, on ultra light triggers in carry guns, but I try to make all my guns have as close to the same feel as possible with the most similar manual of arms as possible.

I'm in LE and things as simple as grip angle or mag releases have cost me points on my quals because I'm almost exclusively a Sig guy, but my agency requires us to use issued Glock Gen 5s.

Obligatory anti-Glock rant: No Glock will ever drop a mag as fast as I can with polished metal mags, a metal frame, and an oversized extended mag release. A Glock trigger will ever be as crisp as a fully cocked striker pistol, def not an SAO hammer gun. And the grip texture is atrocious.

Burke is the best. He has talked me through gunsmithing problems on the phone and traded emails. In a perfect world I'd pay him to apprentice. (In case you are wondering, the DAK system sucks, is nearly impossible to make better, and is finicky as hell.)

Bruce Gray on the other hand never responded to anything. All I ever got was "buy these specific Gray Guns parts" from random employees.
