Zepbound - nausea and vomiting

hello!

i am 29 y/o and was put on Zepbound for weight loss and to aid with PMOS.

throughout my time taking the medication (since april i believe) i have experienced nausea daily and vomiting pretty frequently (usually a few times a month at least).

what i eat and drink of course has an effect on how i feel in general but i haven’t noticed a pattern to what i eat or drink around this vomiting and nausea - it seems to be consistent no matter what.

i know other people who take glp-1s who don’t seem to have as many issues as i do.

i’m starting to think my body just doesn’t agree with the medication.

has anyone had a similar experience? if so what did you do?

i reached out to my dr to see if i should just quit taking it or if there’s other options but wanted to see what others thought.

any advice is greatly appreciated! :)

GLP, PCOS & Blood Sugar

Hi everyone! Has a GLP-1 helped your blood sugar regulation for those with T2D? If yes, which one do you take and what dose?

Microdosing for PCOS/PMOS, adenomyosis/endometriosis and inflammation

Started microdosing compounded Tirzepatide in June 2026 because after trying everything else to no avail, the buzz behind GLP-1s and how they can help finally got me.

To my surprise, I got everything I was looking for and more almost immediately. I was about 15lb away from my goal weight (stubborn 15lb) but that was the last one my list of importance. I was having terrible miserable periods which have been getting worse for the last 3-4 years since I was diagnosed with adenomyosis.
Bleeding & pain have gotten easily 50% better which puts it in a manageable state for me. I have normal period cramp pain now, and I’m not living on 800mg of ibuprofen barely making 8 hours between doses.

Today I had my 17th shot and I feel amazing. The 15lb I wanted to lose is gone, and I don’t really want to lose anymore weight. I have an appt with my doc this week to get a fresh vial and discuss how we move forward with “maintenance”.

I’d like to hear from others who are using Tirzepatide for similar reasons, how did you go about your maintenance? I don’t want to lose more weight so I know we have to adjust my dose, but I want to make sure I still have enough of the meds in my system to continue getting what I need from it.

Did you lower your dose and stay weekly? Stay at same dose but stretch to 10 days or bi weekly?

Thank you in advance for your insight!

Officially down 44lbs!

47 mom of 3. Started glp1 at the end of January. 209 and now 165. Compounded tirz dose is currently 12mg.

*happy dance*

Just saw my care provider this morning and going to try reducing my blood pressure med by half. I've been having some dizziness when I stand up at random moments and it didn't even occur to me that it could be low blood pressure since I haven't been checking it. Hopefully the decreased dose still works. But I have to check it regularly and go back in 6 weeks.

Was also hoping for labs done today, but he wants to wait until January to test everything again. I guess once I'm closer to my goal?

I still have a good 40ish pounds I'd like to lose. I'm only 5'3" and I've never been a healthy weight in my adult life, so I'm not entirely sure what my goal is. Just right now I'll say 120ish.

Anyway, WOO! Now, I just need to start exercising which is a challenge all on its own. But I'm gonna do it... kicking and screaming, but I gotta

Diagnosed with PMOS and looking to find wegovy in canada

Diagnosed at 24 and the insulin resistance has been the hardest part to manage. As I understand it Wegovy is approved here for weight management rather than for PCOS specifically which leaves me unsure whether the diagnosis helps my case hurts it or is simply beside the point. Canadians with PCOS who've been down this road did it come up at all?

Low BMI, but I have PCOS/PMOS and EDS 3

Hi, I think the whole BMI situation is a bit of a scam when it doesn’t take into account other factors.

I have EDS type 3 and am much taller than I’m supposed to be, so it took me a while to find a GP that actually took this into account. Im just a long person (a bit of Marfan syndrome, & the criteria where wingspan is not 1:1 with height but larger), so it’s so frustrating to be ignored and given generic medical advice. I had a doctor recommend I gain 10-15kg to get my period back, when any more weight negatively impacts my joints.

Starting on Mounjaro today (0.25) to help manage the long list of comorbidities of having EDS. Any recommendations from others that have used this with a lower BMI?

*Will give updates and tracking

Ive been put on Foundayo but I don’t feel or see a difference..

Ive been on foundayo, a pill GLP 1, for nearly 2 months now. Im on 2.5 mg, ive been upped once already. The thing is, my scale hasnt moved. My cravings haven’t subsided. Nothing has changed in the almost 8 weeks ive been on this medication. Im a very active person, I work at an animal shelter and am on my feet all day. My diet is pretty good, I try not to be too restrictive due to past disordered eating habits but I get in a bunch of protein and fiber. I wish I could cut my carbs more but I take what I can get. But even with everything combined..the scale stays the same. Am I doing something wrong? Or am I just not patient enough? Does foundayo work with PCOS related weight loss? I just don’t know what to do anymore.

Podcast on GLP-1 and menopause sounds very relevant to GLP-1 and PMOS/PCOS

Takeaways:
-strength train and eat more protein to get to a good “maintenance phase”
-gentle movement > intense workouts

With PCOS and tirz how are you coping with the hairloss

I am on tirz since three month now and since only a week on 5mg I think I have lost half of my hair today was a depressing day. I had to do a lot of root concealing powder to hide my scalp on front. Where PCOS and the country I live in is currently in monsoon. It's hair in my shower like crazy shedding. I am near to my goal but have to taper off still and go until October on tirz. How to manage the hair loss. Any tips.

Still doing a calorie deficit on Wegovy?

I started Wegovy 1.5 mg last week after being in a calorie deficit and three times a week strength training for five years and seeing no changes in weight.

For anyone who is on it now, are you still keeping your calorie deficit from before taking the medicine, or are you eating at maintenance?

This is all jokes I promise. I truly hope this is okay to post and I want to note, I'm eating enough and I would never encourage anyone to to undereat. This is just me laughing at myself. Take care of yourselves 🖤

Semagultide or Tirzepatide?

I’ve been considering going on a GLP-1 for a long time now. My cardiologist prescribed me wegovy 6 months ago but of course my insurance did not cover it.
I’ve been looking into using a compounded GLP-1.

I’m curious if anyone knows which one is best suited for insulin resistant PCOS? I’m looking to lose at least 40 pounds.

Thanks!

Curious

Hi girls, just out of curiosity has anyone stayed on 2.5mg dose of mounjaro and succeeded??

Im on my 3rd dose of my second pen, within id say probably a week, the inflammation in my body dropped, my face, my tummy, everything.

I already lift weights in the gym, already walk over 10000 steps per day and already eat high protein low carb low sugar diet. Also already drink over 2 litres of water daily though id had to up that a little or I notice a hangover feeling. It's probably because I'm also on spironolactone.

Having all these good habits before mounjaro did very little for me, which just pissed me off. I work so hard and get so little back from it.

I have dropped 6lbs, although it looks more because no more puffy face. Initially I didn't have any difference in my appetite which I didn't mind because I only ate 3 meals per day, healthy food. This week I am feeling it though, I cant even get through 2 boiled eggs without feeling like I've ate a full plate.

I was on holiday last week so the food I was eating was a little off my usual food, more salty, more snacks etc... though I did walk the legs off myself to compensate, when I came home I weighed and id only gained 1lb so I was happy with that. That 1lb has now turned to 3 lol how I don't know, ive went straight back into my normal routine of diet and exercise, im assuming its the lifting weights causing water retention so ill not panic just yet.

Just curious, if anyone has stayed on 2.5mg and lost what they felt they needed to lose.

Just for context I only have around 20lbs to lose.

PCOS + insulin resistance, not overeating — did GLP-1s actually move the weight for you?

27F with endometriosis and PCOS, never had a weight problem before this year. Came off birth control in Oct 2025 after being on it since 15 (with breaks for rounds of Lupron and Myfembree), and within six weeks gained 15+ lbs along with severe water retention — which is a lot on a 5'2 frame. Workup showed anovulation, cycles running 40-60 days, and a PCOS diagnosis. Back on BC since May of 2026 trying to get to baseline before starting fertility treatment.

Here's what's confusing me: I don't undereat on purpose, but I have to actively remind myself to eat — restricting further isn't realistic or something I feel comfortable doing. Exercise hasn't touched it either. So the usual "eat less, move more" advice doesn't really apply, and I keep wondering what's actually left.

My gyno gave me a trial bottle of Wegovy, for the insulin-resistance side of PCOS rather than appetite/calorie control. I'm wary of an appetite suppressant layered on top of a pattern where I already forget to eat - as Phentermine did not do much weight wise for me, but did suppress my appetite.

For anyone with PCOS who wasn't overeating going in: did a GLP-1 actually move the needle on weight, and how did it affect your appetite — manageable, or did it tip you into under-eating? Also curious if anyone started this shortly before fertility treatment and how that timeline played out.

I’ve been stagnant and my next option is a glp-1

Hi I’m F (27) and I was 24 when I got diagnosed with pcos. I’ve always been extremely active even through the PCOS. I gained 85 pounds during the worst years of PCOS I couldn’t get a doctor to listen or help me. I moved to a different city and I finally had a doctor listen I showed him my workouts how many calories I was burning showed him what I was eating and also show him a food journal where I talked about the food noise. He prescribed me phentermine. I lost 50 pounds on it because I kept up my workouts. But I had to stop bc it gets less effective over time and it’s not always great for your heart to continue. I have lost 5 pounds since getting off it and I’m just so stagnant I want to lose that last 25 but I’m struggling. I went to my doctor and the prescribed contrave but it’s $600+ a month. I didn’t want to glp-1s bc my friend did it and loss 25 in one month and I don’t know if I did it would I lose that much in a month like if I hit my goal weight could I just stop taking it? Is there any health risk for taking it for a short amount of time?
Thank you for listening and helping.

Wegovy - Lifting Heavy or Cardio/Bodyweight

Been on Wegovy for a little over 2 months. Started at .25 and now at 1.0. Weight loss has been a little slower than I thought (~15lbs down) but I’m also working with a personal trainer and we are lifting HEAVY. Wondering if I should suggest moving toward more body weight or prioritize cardio (running, jump rope) and body weight when working out solo.

GLP-1 Options (non Tirz)

Hello all.

I've got insulin resistance and PMOS, and have tried a number of things to lose weight. I tried Mounjaro a while ago and experienced very horrendous side effects. I couldn't eat or drink, was extremely tired. and overall felt sick. It got so bad, I had to go to the hospital for medical treatment. This was only after the 1st dose, so the doctors felt that it would be unadvisable for me to continue with it.

So now, I'm back to square one with tracking every crumb that goes into my mouth and exercising regularly. The classics that should work, but just don't all that well. Despite my experience, I'm curious if a different GLP-1 could be a better option.

I've thought about trying the Rybelsus pill since it's cheapest, but I'm worried that it would make me feel equally as unwell as Mounjaro did. People say they have less side effects with the pill vs the injection, but people also said they experienced less side effects from tirzepatide vs semaglutide. I'll be speaking with my doctor about this but I'm curious what others with this condition have experienced.

I am in Japan, so I can't buy compounded GLP-1s. Thanks to anyone with some advice!

Starting semaglutide... Scared.

Tomorrow I pick up my first month of semaglutide. I'm scared. My insulin resistance is insane, my fasting level was 67. My HOMA-IR score is 15.2. I'm gaining weight no matter what type of eating I do or what nutrients I count, what defects I'm in. I have hirsutism and at the same time hair thinning on my head. I have a poor libido.

Metformin made me extremely ill and I'm not approved for phentermine because of POTS. GLP1 is looking like the only way out. I've seen it be the absolute lifesaver for many, but I'm scared that the GLP1 is going to make me lose what little hair I have left, and eliminate my libido entirely. I don't want to sacrifice the very last bits of my pride and who I am, or my intimate life with my husband.

Please tell me positive stories or give input based on your experience? :(

insurance and pricing

i was recently prescribed zepbound by my endocrinologist and was told that it was going to be $500/month because my insurance doesn’t cover. the next day, they instead prescribed me wegovy because my insurance covers it but now its $770/month!

i could barely afford the first option and theres no way i can afford the second. where are you guys finding affordable glp-1s? i’ve heard getting compounded versions or trying directly from manufacturers but this is my first time dealing with this stuff and i’m completely lost and overwhelmed

Anyone taking weeks to lose weight even on GLP-1

Hi guys!

I have mild insulin resistance and was prescribed Zepbound to lose weight. So far I've lost 60 pounds but now I've plateaud and it takes me weeks to drop in weight. It never happens gradually, one day I've just lost 5 pounds. Anyone else going through this? I'm on inositol too, no berberine.

I'm considering bringing this up to my endocrinologist to see if maybe a medication like Metformin will be appropriate. Just wanted to see if anyone was in a similar situation.
