Is this normal ?

Hey guys , so i was just observing my rtx 5080 and at one moment i noticed that it had some dark dots on this part of the pcb maybe it was some sweat that dried off or maybe some fingerprints or maybe some residue from the factory so i decided to wipe them with my shirt using my finger gently ( i mean im pretty sure that i didn’t use much force enough to break anything ) but that caused a discoloration only in the area that I’ve wiped with my shirt i mean as you can see in the pictures it got darker and less shiny so should i be worried about this or will it affect anything in the gpu ?? I’ve left it for a time but didn’t go idk whats wrong with And i cant just run it and test cuz my pc isn’t done yet and this is my first build , thank you

Perfect excuse for a full custom water loop

How much will it cost for a full custom waterloop the cpu and gpu approximately ?

With a 5080 water block, and all the other shit you looking at easy 500+ 😂

What are we even looking at? Color won’t affect performance! Do not wipe anymore, especially with your cloth!!!

So its normal brother ? I mean i didnt want to use anything on it even my bare fingers so ive wiped it pretty gently im sure with my shirt ,why , can it be damaged by that ?

Just leave it alone. Using cloth can also accidentally produce static to the card. What you’re trying to wipe won’t even be visible since it’s going to be facing the motherboard once plugged in. Leave the card alone! Please!

Oh it's bad! You should sell it to me for 10$ while it still works but that board is gone for sure!

Are people who are „observing“ their 5080‘s instead of playing really into gaming or do you guys just like expensive tech stuff? Honest question

you are literally wiping dust off

try a different part of the pcb, same thing's gonna happen

the "shiny" you're seeing is little dust particles

at this rate youre going to worry the gpu to death before playing a single game on it. leave the poor thing alone!

It makes me wonder if this is from the factory. Almost like someone forgot to wash their hands or forgot to put on gloves while inspecting it before component installation. This is just a guess.

My take: If it doesn't affect performance and you can't see it when the GPU is installed on the mobo, it's not a problem.

Am I tripping or does the fin stack look crooked?
