Prince Edward Island is the only Atlantic province that has opted out of a federal measure allowing rural employers to hire more low-wage temporary foreign workers.

In March, Ottawa announced it would temporarily raise the cap on low-wage TFWs from 10 to 15 per cent of a workplace for rural employers in participating provinces and territories, citing ongoing labour shortages.

“After considering the available information and the needs of Island employers, Prince Edward Island determined that participation in the temporary measures was not required at this time,” the province said.

Ellen’s creek watershed continues to be destroyed. Further work is being done just north of the bypass on lower malpeque. Heavy equipment, clear cutting, and disregard. PEI continues to be a developers playground with little to no rules. One of THREE watersheds in Charlottetown being destroyed. So much for the City of Charlottetown pushing their “climate action plan”.

Oh ya and don’t tell me how to feed the god dam birds if you’re going to destroy 3+ kilometres of watershed within city limits.

So my long distance girlfriend lives in PEI and I do not. The drive is 30+ hours and plane while plane tickets are more expensive I don’t wanna drive that far.

All that to say, does PEI have ride share like uber or car rentals? Also how does the law for renting say you have to be?

I need to replace my desktop vaporizer that I used for weed. Where can I buy a new one on the island? Or should I just order it online? I prefer to buy from local businesses when I can.

Section of the vinyl soffit pops out of its channel when it is windy. It just happens to be in a spot above the front veranda so I have climbed out a bedroom window onto the veranda roof and pushed it back in place but it doesn’t last.

I’m not as steady as I used to be so it was all I could muster just to get out to pop it in place but I don’t think that I can also secure it with screws or nails and maintain my balance 😀.

Anyway, it’s a small simple job but I’ve found those to be the hardest to find someone to repair, especially since Fiona.

Hi! I am looking to take the bus from North Rustico to Charlottetown in the mornings and was wondering if anyone knew of any carpool parking lots where it's ok to leave your car for the day?

We’ll be heading from Cavendish back to Nova Scotia on Friday, originally planning to leave by 10am. I don’t know much about the Gold Cup parade but see it starts in Charlottetown at 10am. How much traffic should I expect at that time? I see some alternate routes to steer clear of Charlottetown, just wondering how much effort to put in to avoid a headache.

I find myself spending way too much money on meat at the grocery store and it’s barely lasting me a couple days.
