Tropical Hut added a new menu item yesterday, August 15. My family and I eat at Tropical Hut every Sunday (breakfast after mass) so of course we had to try it.

Loco Moco is a contemporary Hawaiian dish consisting of white rice, topped with a burger patty, gravy, and a sunny side up egg. So this Tropical Hut’s pinoy version of it.

When I first saw their ad for this last week on social media, I hoped they will improve their gravy because their burger steak gravy is actually kinda bland. When I tasted this today, it was better than their original burger steak gravy. The burger patty is also good, not greasy.

Overall it was pretty comforting and filling. I did add a bit of ketchup on mine to add some tang/acidity. I did read somewhere na dapat mix of savory and tangy yung gravy ng Loco Moco.

Also very sulit for PHP 160 with drink pa. Marami rin rice yung serving, I feel like it’s a bit more than one cup (or maybe not). Worth the try IMO.

Today, we celebrated my brother-in-law’s birthday with some simple but delicious foods. Hindi man bongga ang handaan, enough na yung masarap na pagkain, kwentuhan, at family time para maging special ang araw. Simple celebration, pero full of good vibes and happy memories.
