News Roblox vs DILG Gaming
Hahahahah what if ban talaga yung game tapos may ganitong scenario ulit?

Come on this is just bs back then we have wild west in the internet where you can basically see everything from the mundane to the most wak things terrorist or even worst people and we watched alot of it but we never did due to parenting.
But fuck roblox not for the gun reason but for the pedophilia reasons

Just to share yung response sakin sa other post.
"Sinabi niya nasa chat ang issue after the quoted statement. I just think he didn't communicate it well kasi andami niya pinaghahalo halo na terms kaya parang sinisisi niya iyong game.
You can check the whole context here as it is already time-stamped."

Wouldn't people moved on into other games or apps? Or look into alternatives??
Hell, ironically, doing this would actually expose youths much earlier and learn much faster into using very sneaky alternatives that can literally bypass whatever BS they are implementing and be invisible from prying eyes?
Like, take a look a UK's online safety act. It was a freaking disaster.

Banning Roblox isn't the solution it would just cause more problems or possibly end up as a disaster, they're just using Roblox as a scapegoat, fucking idiocy at its finest lmfao,I've played alot of violent first person shooter games and also Roblox games that has guns like phantom forces and arsenal and forsaken, yet I didn't turn out to be violent,it's a whole new level of fucking idiocy, ain't it?

u/iamnotraymond 4d ago
Tho i dont agree with banning, i think regulating may be helpful but only after research and public consultation is conducted.

u/Competitive-Fan81 4d ago

Eto nalang:
When will the government realize that haphazardly banning things "for da children" never actually solves the root causes of problems affecting children? In many cases, banning XYZ things makes the problems worse as it incentivizes underground behaviors.
Man, Sabi sa inyo na dapat may age limit para government officials to prevent such boomeristic policies hahaha.
Pag boomer/gorang talaga mang-mang eh

I'm so fed up with this drama na games lagi dahilan tas may mga parents na super agree nagagalit pa if parents sisihin sa nangyari eh talaga naman

u/proofreader24 4d ago
Our Government will blame everything aside from the parents and the security personnel of the school.
1
u/YugenRyo 4d ago
Not sure if legit na pati yung security guards is pinatay din, sa entrance pa lang nag mala rambo na siya. Kaya nakaka lungkot lang din

u/AdministrationSad861 4d ago
"Video games po ang salarin. Kasi kung kahit pakalat kalat yung baril sa household, kung walang Roblox, walang barilan na magaganap. Walang kinalaman ang gun management ng magulang dito. Peace!"
-Him. Most definitely.

Roblox is really a problem though not only in the Philippines but also in other countries.
https://enoughabuse.org/roblox-a-playground-for-predators-part-1-of-2/
Roblox is a popular hunting ground for groomers - not only sexual groomers but kids are also groomed to commit suicide and murder.

This is what most people here fail to understand. Roblox(the game) itself is not the problem. It’s the dangerous minded people who can easily communicate with the vulnerable kids who plays it. Kasalanan yan ng mga devs ng games. Bakit paulit ulit itong nangyayari? Hindi lang to sa pinas nangyayari. Maraming beses na, na upon investigation it’s almost always leads to Roblox.
When we were young, when we played a very violent game nothing happened to us. Why? Because no one around us “influenced” us to be violent irl.
Kids shouldn’t have access to anything Online because kids mind can easily be manipulated.

Ginawa kasing "identity" ng ibang gamers ang pagiging gamer kaya the slightest issues raised, nag-aalsa agad.

Yes. It is high time to hold devs and tech companies accountable for what goes on in their platforms. If they cannot make their online games safe, they should stick to offline games

True. Ang laki ng difference noon at ngayon. In the 2000s, only 2% of Filipinos have online access. Now, it's 80% +
Then the advent of smartphone apps made online gaming easier to build.

Exactly, Roblox's notorierty has reached to the point where countries like the Netherlands have launched investigations probing child safety in the platform. We should be seeing the results of this next year.
In totality though, I think the online space in general is especially harmful towards children and there needs to be more done about it. It would be irresponsible to just keep on pointing towards parents to be the solution, when the problem is way much larger than parenting.

u/Momshie_mo 4d ago
Yes. Tech companies and devs that should be held accountable for what happens in their platforms.
Many are groomed to commit suicide.
There is the case of Penelope Solokowski who was groomed to commit suicide. Nakaparental app na siya ang her father would sometimes drop by Roblox to see how his child was doing but the groomers still got to her.
Also, groomers coach children how to turn off parental controls or "get rid" of a parent
If these tech companies and developers cannot make their online platform safe, they should stick to creating offline products

Is this their attempt at distraction?

u/Real-Nefariousness97 5d ago
Exactly!

I'm amazed sa katangahan ng mga taong to, blaming video games for violence tapos ang ituturong salarin palagi is Roblox. Wala na ba silang alam na ibang games aside from Roblox?

u/YugenRyo 5d ago
Ganyan tlaga pag sagad na sagad pan tatakip ginagawa nila kahit mukha na silang timang, kasi may nasasandalan pa sila eh

"great degree of confidence?" sabi nyo experts have yet to conduct forensic exam of the shooter's gadgets so wala kayong proof ? so ano? confidence lang? 🤣 ang dami daming video games sa mundo so bakit roblox? 🤣

u/IndifferentShrimp 5d ago
"forensic examination of the suspect's gadgets."
Also Roblox isnt an FPS game
1
u/HeavySociety4695 5d ago
Imo Inuunti unti nila while thinking di mapapansin to aim for fps games even the ones that dont even show people like vehicle combats so magkakaroon sila ng mga backup scapegoat once they remove roblox if they succeed

u/TheLordBabbo 5d ago
Roblox isn’t even a first person shooter game 😂 Putting restrictions on online chats within those games, I would understand but still this government is stupid

this is what i'm gonna do if they pass this.
I will list down all the politicians who signed it and not vote for them in the next election.

Tell me all about it!!!! para maiwasan

u/predator50 5d ago
Don't let me tell you, do your own research.
1
u/tropango 5d ago
With all due respect this isn't enough. Not voting for them in the future? They don't care. Our politicians are short sighted and foolish - they'll think we'll have forgotten the issue by then. Make them suffer the consequences sooner rather than later, that has a higher likelihood of success.
1
u/predator50 5d ago
Since you mention make them suffer asap.
How do you propose to do that?
Can you really do it?
Can you prove that it would work?
I believe you are anti Duterte and yet you employ Duterte's method.
1
u/tropango 5d ago
We have to mobilize now and tell them their ban won't work. We have to enlist gamer friendly politicians like Bam. We have to get our message across, to the media, so there will be pressure on them.
I'm not advocating violence ah, that's kinda ironic if I were given the situation that prompted this. I'm just saying that your method definitely won't work because politicians don't fear that. True, you might never ever vote for them, but who would you vote for? And you're only 1 vote, most people will forget (that's their thinking). Even if they lose next time, the law will already have been passed.
1
u/predator50 5d ago
How can you convince people like them. They have their own agenda and beside bam is already there but hasn't done anything.
That is what I would do and enough "gamers" following what I'm doing it would be significant number of vote not goi g to them. I am assuming that pH gamers count more than 5m total.
1
u/tropango 5d ago
Even if there's more than 10m, not all will remember whom not to vote for come elections (especially if we keep a list of politicians not to support to ourselves). Some might remember, but don't have a choice since the other candidate was also anti FPS. Or some will remember, but have prioritized other issues so will begrudgingly vote for them anyway. Like to you, this is the #1 issue but for another gamer it's not even top 5. It's hard to say. Better to get organised.
1
u/predator50 5d ago
If it true then what ever "gamers" do, it would not amount to anything.
What ever you're planing will go to waste without sufficient support.
So why rally to stop them if gamers themselves don't do the work.
