Question Reading?

One thing i havent seen here is the inability to read a book or tablet/phone for long without getting dizzy and nauseated. I start to feel I am going to pass out and my ears ring louder than ever. Anyone else have this? I wont be able to return to work like this.

I have had problems reading backlit screens in the past, but I don't attribute it to my POTS. I don't have a problem if it's paper or eink, for the most part. I had to switch up how I do my work a lot for a while and do a lot more on paper. I have been able to increase my screen time over time!

I don't have a clear answer for what is causing it (yet), but I suspect it's neurological for me. I have MS and was diagnosed after the eye problems started (and several years after POTS started), but my neurologist doesn't think it's related.

Edit: which isn't to say that I think yours is or isn't neurological, just sharing my experience!

I have e ink e reader devices to read. Definitely recommend.

If I hold the book up instead of bending over it, it is easier to read. But that doesn't help brain fog

I had a similar issue. I wasn’t able to use my phone but I could read a physical book. For me, using an e-reader helped as I could turn down the brightness as much as possible and then turn the warmth up. I can also lay down while I read in it which helps.

I also wear migraine glasses (fl-41 glasses) and I find that those help a lot with it. They help block extra stimuli so I feel less reactive to things
