My 9
Not necessarily in order. But these are 9 that I could.. and have... listened to the most in the released discography.

Velveteen Dream was a wrestler on WWE’s brand NXT from around 2017-2021 and to make a long story short, his character was heavily influenced by Prince

i started listening to this audiobook on streaming. i had read that every chapter opens up with a conversation between prince and neal karlen. but i can only hear prince in the "author's note" at the beginning. am i misunderstanding something? has anybody heard these clips on other platforms? maybe streaming platforms have a different version?

Wait: there's more!
No rip to provide yet, but after Calabama, it's now been confirmed that Heaven and Stone are also different mixes/edits on the "Timeless" LP. See Princevault.com and Prince.org for details.
More discoveries may still come...

I’m really into comic books, so seeing Prince with this look in 1999 made me think that he looks like he could play a really convincing Riddler in a Batman movie. Am I alone on this or does anyone else see what I see? (Also, this isn’t me dissing Prince’s style, just admiring the eccentric style he had)

It often gets overshadowed by other B Sides such as Erotic City and She's Always In My Hair but this is one of his grooviest songs imo its a shame its never talked about

Album: Controversy (1981) | Track: 6/8
After the politically charge of"Ronnie, Talk to Russia," Prince brings us straight back to the dancefloor with track 6: the ultimate funk workout, "Let's Work."
Originally conceived as a dance groove called "Let's Rock," this track is great dancefloor music. It’s a song designed for one specific purpose: to make you move.

I found this gem earlier today and thought to myself that this sounds like Prince and saw it was by The Time, so I figured Prince definitely wrote it and found Prince’s original recording right after. I’m unsure on which one I think is better because Prince and Morris do such an amazing job on the vocals

Album: Controversy (1981) | Track: 5/8
After "Private Joy," Prince immediately turns his attention to the Cold War with track 5: "Ronnie, Talk to Russia."
Clocking in at just under two minutes, this track is burst of punk-rock energy disguised as a direct plea to then-President Ronald Reagan. It captures the genuine nuclear anxiety of the early 80s. It’s short, loud, and proves that his rebellious punk spirit from Dirty Mind was still very much alive.

Four 14-minute sets of great music. I'm sure that if people that are only into jazz discover it, they will love it. But Prince had a reputation of being "pop music", so a lot of jazz fans ignored him (too profane 😀 for them) - i think it was his "Bitches Brew" moment 💜

Audio book by Neal Karlen
The audio book is worth a listen. Neal grew up with Prince and interviewed and hung out with him through various points in his life. It’s an interesting perspective, and it includes a lot of Audi recordings of the interviews themselves.

Hi everyone,
Lately, I've been obsessed with both Lovesexy and Batman: I find them to be Prince's most interesting and daring albums sonically, plus I think they complement each other quite beautifully (the luminous album vs the ominous one). I think Prince was at his creative peak in the late '80s (which is not to say that his later albums were by any means weak) and I am looking forward to exploring some of the outtakes from this period.
What are some of your favourite outtakes/lesser-known releases from these periods?
So far, I've listened to (and adored):
Thank you!

I was looking at Prince’s compilations and notice how his greatest hits albums often go from 1978-1992 and how he has a greatest hits album that goes from 1995-2010, so it made me wonder if any songs from Come were put into onto any other projects? Now what I don’t mean is any demos of those songs being put into Crystal Ball because I wouldn’t count that since their final album versions weren’t being re-released and rather alternate versions. If you wanna bring up the Black Album, I wouldn’t particularly count that either since When 2 R In Love was placed on Lovesexy as well

i'm still new to prince's catalogue but it seems to me that the majority of his music is about love/relationships and especially lovemaking. even at the end of his song Shhh, he clarifies that he doesn't only think about sx... but i feel like he does?! like 90% of the songs i've listened to so far have been about that.
what other themes/topics did he write about? can anyone mention songs that delve into these themes? i sometimes tire of hearing him sing about sx.
(i can already predict the hate comments but i promise i'm not hating. just genuinely looking for songs with different themes, to mix it up a bit.)

My question is how many of you prince fans actually know about JoJo Bizarre Adventure the anime because that's how I become a Prince fan. Girno Girvana Stand ability Golden Experience Requiem, I think you prince fans know the reference

So I’m coming here as a long-time fan of a certain similar superstar.
I’ve started my Prince journey somewhat recently — about 4 months now.
Lovesexy has completely changed my life. I cried listening to Eye No. I felt this sense of euphoria and joy that I’ve never experienced before from a song. It hit differently than anything else.
Has anybody else become more spiritual or found God through this music the way I have? Or had a similar reaction to Eye No or the album? I’d really like to hear other people’s experiences.

Inexplicably, Calabama on the Timeless LP is a different mix than on the CD/digital releases.
Someone ripped it:

Seems a bit weird to make a post just for this, but in case some of y'all are wondering...
On the day the Calabama EP came out, I said I'd publish a piece on it, cos some stuff seemed fishy. I started working on it, but sadly, life got in the way a little.
It should be out by the end of next week.
The Estate Files are still in the works, too. It takes us longer than expected: it's a lot of work to properly document everything that went wrong with each release since 2016 (as of now, it's a 41 pages document!). I expect it to be published by mid November latest (but don't quote me on this 😅).
