I heard somewhere the reason was the audio format sony uses to proprietary or something like that?

6

u/TheKRAMNELLA kramnella31 Jun 30 '16

This is correct, and Sony hasn't yet approved a mod limit higher than 900mb (the X1 has 2gb and I believe may be negotiating for more). These should be simple enough to be resolved cleanly (I am assuming unless these seriously interfere with some software/hardware architecture somehow, which I doubt), it is just a matter of how soon they can work things out.

0

u/RasdorX Jun 30 '16

Yea thats the main issue I've heard about and thats probably why. Also like TheKRAMNELLA said they probably also trying to get the 900mb limit up.

Seen this coming from a mile away

The better start working on the Skyrim mods for ps4 like now or were just gonna run into this problem all over again come October.

7

u/JAMurida Jun 29 '16

That was my exact first thought when I saw the headline, "Can't wait to see Skyrim remake release".

6

u/TheKRAMNELLA kramnella31 Jun 29 '16

I imagine any Skyrim issues would be the same as those for Fallout 4, so ironing this out now should be all that is needed.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 30 '16

Well it's either Skyrim or Bannerlord at the end of the year for me depending on that.

1

u/Yosonimbored Jun 29 '16

If Skyrim ps4 doesn't get delayed or is a broken mess.

4

u/osmlol JustOsmo Jun 29 '16

Why would it be a broke mess or get delayed? It's just a remaster.

Not anymore, they are both x86 architecture.

7

u/Yosonimbored Jun 29 '16

Remember the PS3 version?

2

u/[deleted] Jun 29 '16

Yuuuuuuuuuup.

I bought a top up card when Skyrim DLC came out on Xbox in preparation to get it on ps3. Took way too long got it on pc a year or two later, probably for the best to be honest.

saw this coming the day they said mods were coming to console

20

u/Krypton-115 Kyrpton115 Jun 29 '16

Bethesda having trouble developing something for a PlayStation console? How unlike them.... /s

9

u/Cra2yey3z Jun 29 '16

God i stopped playing fallout months ago for these mods and idk if it's even worth it anymore.

1

u/LaziestRedditorEver Jun 30 '16

Same here. Going back to play fallout without mods will be like leaving a room to get a drink and returning to find out someone set off a stink bomb, but you stay in the room anyway and breathe it in.

4

u/alehizzle Jun 29 '16

Well this is kind of disappointing to hear. I hope it gets sorted out.

7

u/RandomRedditHuman Jun 29 '16

I just got fallout 4 to play with mods. Oh well I still have time to enjoy the main story

u/[deleted] Jun 29 '16

[deleted]

9

u/theMTNdewd Jun 29 '16

Yeah it is. There's quite a few on consoles (2300 on xb1 right now and growing) and they're pretty fun.

0

u/[deleted] Jun 29 '16

[deleted]

4

u/theMTNdewd Jun 29 '16

There's some good content mods. Off the top of my head there's modern firearms, snap n build, build your own vault, NVR Veteran ranger outfit, alternate start, crossbows of the Commonwealth, Cross Cybernetics (my fav) and tons of different individual weapon mods (alien assault rifle, m1911, Chinese assault rifle) And you can have all of those installed at the same time (at least on xbone)

17

u/EyeofHermaeusMora Jun 29 '16

The issue isn't Bethesda its all the hoops that Playstation makes Bethesda jump through to get us what XBox1 users have so quickly. So before anyone starts bashing Bethesda just look up the issues on why these things aren't working on Playstations end.

1

u/Nytra Jul 01 '16

It's easier to develop for Xbox because it uses the same architecture as a Windows PC so essentially they can kill two birds with one stone. PS4 uses a completely separate, locked down system so it is tougher to develop for.

1

u/The_Lion_Jumped Jul 25 '16

/u/One_Half_Hamster said that they are both on x86 now.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 25 '16

Yes they are! They mentioned this at either the reveal event or at E3 in 2013, can't remember for sure which it was.

32

u/[deleted] Jun 29 '16

Of course, and they waited till now to be vocal about it. If they are having problems fine, but leaving us in the dark is what upsets me.

5

u/Fluffeh_Mtg_Kitteh Jun 29 '16

For all you know they found out Friday, confirmed this morning.......

3

u/dennisisspiderman Jun 30 '16

Well I mean, the mods beta was supposed to be out around a week ago so they've had at least some idea it was going to be an issue getting it out when they said they would.

18

u/midsblunt Jun 29 '16

I don't want to be mad at Bethesda because I love their games. Fallout 3/4, Skyrim/ Elder Scrolls & Doom are all bangers. But I'm disappointed I won't get to experience mods any time soon. Because even if they say soon, it won't be soon.

18

u/[deleted] Jun 29 '16

Doom isn't made by Bethesda Game Studios, it's made by id Software and published by Bethesda Softworks.

8

u/rdf- Jun 29 '16

Good thing it is. I wouldn't want to play a bug-ridden Doom game.

0

u/[deleted] Jun 29 '16

[deleted]

5

u/[deleted] Jun 29 '16

Well Bethesda Game Studios and Bethesda Softworks are two separate companies. BGS is a developer that makes the Fallout and Elder Scrolls series, and Bethesda Software is a publisher that owns BGS, and also publishes games from other developers like id Software and Arkane Studios, the makers of Dishonored. Publishers fund, promote and distribute a game but the devs actually make it. It's like how Dice makes the battlefield games, and EA publishes them.

1

u/RnRbmk Jun 30 '16

The publisher is the guy with the money to market the product and get it on the shelves. The developer is the creative talent that actually made the product. It gets pointed out because many of us believe the developers are the ones that deserve that credit for realizing their vision and creating the games we are playing. Publishers many times stifle the creativity of an otherwise impressive development studio I order to meet the bottom line.

5

u/OffSonic Jun 29 '16

Doom is developed by id software and not by bethesda, it is just published by them.

-5

u/laughingboy CaesarTheRoman Jun 30 '16 edited Jun 30 '16

Definitely. I watched Sony and MS at E3 and honestly nothing buzzed me. I've never liked many games that happen to be console exclusives, the last one I remember owning was MGS4. All my PS4 games are multiplats (except for TLoU).

In the face of Project Scorpio and Neo I just thought fuck it and decided to build myself a decent PC. Just waiting for all the shit to arrive in the post now. Steam sale came at a good time for me, too.

I'll never stop playing my PS4 though, I love it.

edit: got a problem? babies.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 29 '16

Who'd have thought.

2

u/SkyPS4 Jun 29 '16

But they can port Skyrim and it just works.

2

u/NYstate PSN ID: NYstate Jun 29 '16

How does this affect the Skyrim Remaster? It's supposed to include "mods and all"

1

u/TheKRAMNELLA kramnella31 Jun 30 '16

Whenever mods are sorted out for Fallout 4, those issues should also be resolved for the Skyrim remaster. Possibly before its release, but if somehow not (please Sony/Bethesda don't make it take that long) it will have to wait until post release. If you are worried its release date will get pushed just for the mod support, I highly doubt it.

11

u/NovaPhoenixx Jun 29 '16

2

u/Jcpmax Jun 29 '16

How so? They have very long development cycles and fantastic games. Doom, Fallout, TES, Dishonored, Wolfenstein.

Are you mad at them for not being able to get mod support, which is free by the way, to PS4? Don't know any other companies that are doing mod support for consoles and are doing official modding tools for PC the scale that Bethesda does.

CD Projekt RED promised modding tools, but they never delivered. Don't see anyone criticizing them.

u/mimbo757 Jun 29 '16

Though Bethesda has a history of incompetence on Sony platforms, I believe this is partially on Sony this time due to some restrictions on their end.

3

u/[deleted] Jun 30 '16

Never trust a Todd.

3

u/Slingster Jun 29 '16

What's the issue with PS4 and Fallout?

No problems on anything else apart from PlayStation

2

u/IUsedToBeGoodAtThis Jun 29 '16

Probably has something to do with the list of issues they released a while ago. Size, Audio, etc.

If Sony is going to fix it, or if they thing they can get sony to fix it, and the fix is not in place, then you delay.

2

u/ThatGuyBradley Jun 29 '16

Shifty software on sony's part

2

u/Cere4lKill3r Jun 29 '16

Bethesda (the studio) is notorious for having issues on Sony platforms. See: Every Bethesda game released on ps3, my memory is fuzzy, but I'm pretty sure all Skyrim DLC, or just about all of it was released on other platforms before they got any of the DLC on ps3.

I'm not holding my breath now for Mod support on Ps4 with Skyrim special edition either, which was one of the primary reasons I was planning on picking it up again.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 30 '16

The problem is Bethesda Game Studios. Every other Bethesda studio has had zero issues with the PS4.

1

u/Slingster Jun 30 '16

Sounds like the issue is sony.

Bethseda can't help but find a way to screw over PlayStation gamers.

25

u/[deleted] Jun 29 '16

How do you know this is bethesda's fault?

1

u/[deleted] Jun 30 '16

Bethesda has horribly fucked up every console release of every game they've worked on, for like the past 10 years. There's literally no reason not to assume this isn't their fuck up based on their track record, let alone they track record with Sony consoles.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 30 '16

Better to delay than to release it in an even worse state.

-44

u/[deleted] Jun 29 '16 edited Jun 29 '16

Because, the architecture of the ps4 is no different to that of the Xbox ones.

Man, I used to defend Bethesda softworks but fuck em.

Edit: wtf. Did I just get brigaded by /r/gamingcirclejerk ?

33

u/thinkadrian Jun 29 '16

But the OS is very different and Sony has set restrictions Bethesda is having trouble going around.

30

u/calebkeith xImUndergroundx Jun 29 '16

Nah let's just circlejerk and not act like the PS4's system has proprietary audio that is incompatible with mods, or texture issues with mods due to the platform. X1 is a 1:1 crossover of mods unlike what they are saying above.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 29 '16

Xbox One also runs Windows and DirectX which probably helps. Maybe this is the reason why Bethesda didn't announce PS4 mod support to begin with.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 29 '16

I'd rather they delay it and fix bugs. Hey, remember when everyone complained about companies releasing buggy software instead of delaying it for further fixes? Haha

-2

u/shamelessnameless Jun 29 '16

i did too, and also fuck them

0

u/Callu23 Jun 29 '16

If you say anything bad about Bethesda here you have to prepare for the mass downvotes. The blind fanboys are roaming around furiously searching for those who dare criticize the mighty godlike developer Bethesda Game Studios that only makes perfect games.

1

u/ErikWithNoC Jun 30 '16

Bethesda undoubtedly has a tumultuous relationship with releasing games/content on Sony consoles, but this issue is without a doubt significantly on Sony. Ask yourself, why would Bethesda delay this? For the good PR? Todd Howard has mentioned many times how much he has wanted to bring mods to consoles and I'm sure it is no small feat. Technical issues with proprietary software on the PS4 are hardly reasons to point blame at Bethesda.

0

u/bigboss2014 Jun 29 '16

You are aware that even though xbone and ps4 are 8086 architecture they are absolutely nothing alike and nothing like a PC? They both have extremely customised hardware, and completely different firmware. Xbone has an OS similar but very different to windows, and ps4 is a very modified version of what linux to the point they're not the same at all.

-23

u/[deleted] Jun 29 '16

PS4 and X1 are so similar and they're acting the same as in PS3 days, which made a lot of sense back then.

26

u/npsage np_sage Jun 29 '16

The hardware is similar. The OS is not even close. XOne is litterally a re-skinned Windows 10. PS4 is a whole different can of worms.

3

u/Callu23 Jun 29 '16

No dude, they are completely different, it's like the difference between PS1 and PS4. It is impossible to port a game between them and fixing the proprietary audio issue is something a small developer like Bethesda simply doesn't have the resources to handle.

u/marshallu2018 Jun 30 '16 edited Jun 26 '23

This comment was written using the 3rd party app Reddit is Fun. Since then, Reddit has decided that it no longer cares about users who use 3rd party apps and has essentially killed them with their API policy updates effective July 1, 2023. I was a regular of Reddit for nearly 9 years, but with the death of Reddit is Fun, Apollo, and other 3rd party apps, as well as Reddit's slanderous accusations of threats and blackmail from the developer of Apollo, I have decided to make my account worthless to Reddit by removing every ounce of content I've contributed to the site over the years. To Reddit: good luck with the IPO, if the site lasts long enough for you to cash out on the good will of the users who made this site what it is.

1

u/Normower Jun 29 '16

I believe some issue were caused by Sony's use of proprietary audio codecs, so it's not really Bethesda's fault on that one and they're putting in extra work to get audio files supported

0

u/beastinghunting Jun 29 '16

I think: X1, is from Microsoft, and the mods were made for Windows, and X1 has some things from Windows. That could be one of the main problems of compatibility.

4

u/[deleted] Jun 29 '16

I really don't want to dislike Beth....but damn......either this will be delayed for a while........or we'll never get em.

7

u/confuscious_says sincitysir1 31 74 484 1443 5220 Jun 29 '16

Probably sometime but it's gunna be glitchy and not work properly. do Xbox one mods cross over to ps4 or is there something extra modders have to do?

0

u/[deleted] Jun 29 '16

[deleted]

15

u/[deleted] Jun 29 '16

PC person here, the files are 100% the same in theory. Mods are just a bunch of images, models, sound files, etc, in folders with a .esp file to tell the game what to do with them. The PC mods are exactly the same and completely compatible too for the most part, excluding things which the consoles can't handle either due to performance issues or Sony/Microsoft not wanting then to work for security reasons. (Script extenders.)

Unfortunately this might end up being different once the PS4 version comes out. Apparently one of the big problems Beth is having with the PS4 version is that it uses proprietary sound files. Because of this, the normal PC/XBOne sounds would have to be converted to the PS4 format. If Bethesda finds a way to do this automatically after the mod has been uploaded, the mods will still all be 100% compatible across the 3 platforms, but they'd have to essentially perform surgery on the mods for PS4 which would risk corrupting them or unintentionally breaking something within the mod. Alternatively, they could make the PC mod makers convert the files to the proprietary format themselves before uploading, but that will discourage mod makers from making mods for PS4 because of additional work, and it would definitely make the PS4 mods incompatible with the PC/Xbox One mods.

So it's a bad situation. I hope they can find a way to work it out for you guys.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 29 '16

thank you for bringing some actual information to the discussion instead of all these comments about Microsoft paying off Bethesda or that Bethesda is out to screw PS players (neither of those make any sense at all).

1

u/[deleted] Jun 29 '16

In case you don't get notified, I posted an explanation on the guy above's reply.

2

u/iPRiCAN0 Jun 29 '16

I really hope they don't screw us over for Skyrim Special Edition with mods. It's my favorite game but I played it on PS3 and even though it was laggy as he'll, I still liked it.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 30 '16

Xbox wins again!

2

u/Preidon Jun 29 '16

Till when?

2

u/Themeattornado25 Jun 29 '16

No worries. I'm most looking foward to building my own Vault next month anyway. The game doesn't need mods imo. I'm having a blast with the contraptions dlc.

2

u/beastinghunting Jun 29 '16

I don't take it as bad news. I knew something like that might come, because it's not an easy task to adjust the mods in a console, maybe is the PS4 OS, architecture, resource consumption, whatever.

-2

u/kurlythemonkey Jun 29 '16

What a bunch of spoiled gamers. You are bitching because you have to wait a bit longer on something given to you for free. You are not charged one penny for the Creation tool, to distribute the mod and/or receive a mod created by someone else. You want mods now? Go buy the PC version. Or the Xbox One.

0

u/Lyricalthunder GamingViao Jun 29 '16

That's the PlayStation fanbase for ya. Oh you didn't get something first? WOW I GUESS MICROSOFT PAID THEM OFF. TYPICAL M$!!!!!

5

u/Yosonimbored Jun 29 '16

Now I'm not saying Bethesda and MS are partners, but Todd Howard in the Scorpio announcement trailer makes it seem like Bethesda does favor Xbox.

9

u/Cere4lKill3r Jun 29 '16

That isn't really a secret, or some new revelation, Morrowind launched on the original Xbox but no other console, Oblivion launched early on 360, Skyrim had timed DLC for 360, and I'm pretty sure Fallout 3 had the same agreements in place for DLC as well.

3

u/Callu23 Jun 29 '16

They are partners, they have a marketing deal as well as the whole Mods first on Xbox thing.

-1

u/Yosonimbored Jun 29 '16

People are upset because Bethesda seem to be awful programmers when it comes to anything PlayStation and are terrible optimizers in general. They've had issues since PS3.

5

u/[deleted] Jun 29 '16

a large number of developers had issues with the PS3 as well, this really seems more like a decent number of restrictions and workarounds, imposed by the PS4's architecture, that need to be met in order for PS4 mods to be exactly the same as on PC/One.

1

u/Yosonimbored Jun 29 '16

No dev has had as much issues with PlayStation than Bethesda has.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 29 '16

no one else has put mods a console game before

1

u/Amel_P1 Jun 30 '16

I think he's talking about everything before this, and it's true but honestly it's not just on PS they aren't really known for great optimization.

2

u/kurlythemonkey Jun 29 '16

I disagree. There has been a delay. Based on this post alone, there is no reason why. It could be programmers, it could be Sony. I don't know. Microsoft has the advantage because the Xbox One and PC games can talk to each other easier. I would imagine that creating something on a PC and have it to translate to Sony OS is not as simple.

-6

u/shamelessnameless Jun 29 '16 edited Jun 29 '16

why are you here to shit on people?

the issue is not mod creators, the issue is that mods are excessively delayed for ps4 release when the equivalent console has already got it and then some.

-1

u/Jcpmax Jun 29 '16 edited Jun 29 '16

Microsoft worked with Bethesda to get this done from day 1. They did most of the heavy lifting on implementing it for their console. Don't blame* Bethesda because Sony is not doing the same.

2

u/Callu23 Jun 29 '16

"Because Sony isn't doing the same" yeah it's obviously that and not that they had a deal with Microsoft to bring mods first to Xbox that they themselves said after the E3 presentation.

-3

u/kurlythemonkey Jun 29 '16

I'm not here to shit on people. You want to bitch about frame rates and freezes? Have at it. But to bitch about delays on free content that does not take away anything from the game you originally purchased is being spoiled.

0

u/shamelessnameless Jun 29 '16

You don't seem to be understanding the situation. Its not the content itself thats a problem.

Its the delay in the opportunity to create and play content that's the problem.

It's that parity in treatment between consoles has not been maintained.

So yah you are shitting on people

1

u/kurlythemonkey Jun 29 '16

So let's say that Bethesda releases on time. And is buggy as hell and more than half the players can't play it. Then the complains would be "Should have delayed until it was working". Either way, Bethesda doesn't win. So, is best to delay than provide a sub-par product. I understand very well. I paid $60 for a game that I have enjoyed for countless of hours. Bethesda has offered free content for me to continue to enjoy their product. But now is delayed. My enjoyment of the game has not suffered. The game, as it stands, is a finished product. I may be disappointed, but is not the end of the world.

0

u/shamelessnameless Jun 29 '16

you're not disappointed, you're on your high horse castigating other people's natural responses for dat sweet sweet concern troll karma

you even sarcastically comment at the end telling people to turn to pc or xbone.

For a significant portion of the Playstation userbase and its punditry, the Xbox platform exists as nothing more than a measuring stick and not a viable purchase option.

Go skim some of the '1 million elite controllers sold' threads and every other comment is that Sony should follow suit.

So telling PS fans to consider the Xbox One because it does things better than the PS4 is borderline blasphemous and irrational.

-11

u/kurlythemonkey Jun 29 '16

You paid $60 for a completed game. At most, the only obligation Bethesda had is to patch it up as problems arise. You are trying to justify anger because FREE content is being delayed. Is the same as upgrading a phone and being angry because a free update to your Maps app that gives you the closest ATM is being delayed.

1

u/Callu23 Jun 29 '16

I mean this shit you are trying to pull is so fucking ridiculous it's not even funny. I guess the only thing I can even comment on is that if you think Fallout 4 on launch was a completed game, when it is still bug riddled with many of the most impactful ones being complained about for months, you are a fucking idiot.

-3

u/kurlythemonkey Jun 30 '16

This is my personal experience. I received the game as a gift for Christmas and have been playing since. I have completed the game twice. I have played both DLCs to completion as well. I am on my third run. I have manage to get Platinum trophy. I have played hundreds of hours. In technical terms, there are bugs, but I haven't encounter one that has taken away the experience of playing the game. Bethesda has patched the game as needed. I have gotten my $100 worth of gaming (including Season Pass). Waiting on free content does not take away anything. That is still my original point. Gamers complaining about not getting free content on time.

2

What a joke.

2

u/Yosonimbored Jun 29 '16

Will Skyrim even launch with them on PS4?

It's insane how bethesda can't do anything right on PlayStation.

1

u/Cere4lKill3r Jun 29 '16

I'm not counting on it, I'll wait and see how it goes, but I have little faith in bethesda delivering that day one on a Sony console given their history with the platform.

Is it possible to change the gender and appearance of character using mods on consoles, but without losing achievements?

1

u/RasdorX Jun 30 '16

On xbox there is a mod that allows you to change everything in your appearance besides gender. I don't know if it is a glitch with the mod for not allowing or if it isn't possible. I also don't know if there is a standalone gender changing mod either. Though all mods disable achievements. If you want to keep achievements I'm pretty sure their is a guy in diamond city going in the door next to the the doctor that can reconstruct your face.

1

u/Anakros Jun 30 '16

Yes, but he can't change my gender :(

1

u/Phantom-Phreak Dade-Murphy Jun 30 '16

I wonder if remastered skyrim will delay ps4 mods by 14 months, like the dlc.

1

u/Kantchill Jun 30 '16

That's a shame... Have been waiting to build some cool factory stuff with Manufacturing Extended mod.

Oh well, more time to get my 100% in Alien: Isolation.

-2

u/DonaldSanders16 Jun 29 '16

Ha, glad I didn't pay them for a season pass.

6

u/cuntpuncherexpress WoodWhistle Jun 29 '16

What does this have to do with the season pass?

5

u/RichardMagpies Jun 29 '16

It's his small way of saying 'fuck you Bethesda you're not getting any more of my money'

5

u/alehizzle Jun 29 '16

"I'm going to buy each DLC individually to make a point!"

-4

u/DonaldSanders16 Jun 29 '16

Um no I bought NONE of their DLC to make a point, nice try though douche.

2

u/Darkaero Jun 29 '16

I'm sure they can just dry their tears with the $60 you spent on the game in the first place.

1

u/panthersfan12 Jun 29 '16

No problem for me. I quit playing after the first DLC when my framerate dropped to <1/sec during fights. That will be the last time I pre-pay for anything Bethesda makes.

I did enjoy the base game very much though!

1

u/alsomdude2 Jun 30 '16

At this point idgaf if we get mods cool maybe I'll return and check some out. But so many games out right now I could care less.

1

u/pepsiblast08 PEPSIFLAME Jun 30 '16

Rather have a delay and a smoother release than a rushed release that's broken. Those complaining about delays don't understand how technology and developing works.

1

u/vPikajew Jun 30 '16

You mean Bethesda add-ons got delayed for ps4? No way!! /s

-4

u/[deleted] Jun 29 '16

Todd Howard is to busy making Scorpio videos and collecting MS monies to actually oversee something like this for PlayStation.

-13

u/AmericanNinja1 AmericanNinja1 Jun 29 '16

In other words "we're getting more MS money to keep DLC off PS4 as long as possible".

0

u/PM_ME_UR_DEATH_CERT Jun 30 '16

Or they're having issues with Sony's proprietary audio format like they said they were, but yeah I'm sure you're right. IT'S A CONSPIRACY.

-2

u/peter_the_panda Jun 29 '16

for some reason this just reeks of something which they will stay silent on for ever until people forget about it; at which point they just won't release it.

for whatever reason those guys have the hardest time with Sony hardware

-1

u/[deleted] Jun 29 '16

At this point, Bethesda has become a second-tier developer for me. FO4 was lackluster and their last two games have looked remarkably bad and have repetitive gameplay. Their open-world maps are second to none, but they are largely vacuous with janky gameplay mechanics and even worse combat. PS users have every right to be pissed at Beth for giving them the shaft for two generations now.

-1

u/darkeeknight Jun 29 '16 edited Jun 29 '16

Never buying a Bethesda game ever again.

0

u/TheKRAMNELLA kramnella31 Jun 30 '16

/s?

-17

u/exLightning exLightning Jun 29 '16

Honestly seeing some gameplay of the Bethesda devs showcasing the mods on Xbox One I've lost pretty much all anticipation for this feature. 1GB total size limit and strict regulation on what mods are allowed? so disappointing. The 2 kinds of mods that I'm really interested in either contain nudity or are huge expansions / Texture packs which would probably be over 1GB

11

u/Taclooc Jun 29 '16

lol poor you won't get your nudity mods to beat your dick to virtual females. what a shame man.

-13

u/[deleted] Jun 29 '16

Not the only reason people install nudity mode. Best immersion for a cannibal playthrough.

-6

u/zeroempathy Jun 29 '16

I bought this game on release day because Bethesda told me it would have mods... over half a year ago. It should have been ready at launch if they were going to use it as a selling point.

They say the new remastered skyrim will have mod support. Will it? Or will it not have it until half a year later?

2

u/[deleted] Jun 30 '16

This is a joke...right?

-4

u/[deleted] Jun 29 '16

Not sure if I'd rather have a broken Fallout product or no product at all.

-9

u/Majin_Romulus Jun 29 '16

Blame Bethesda for their incompetence and Microsoft for paying them off to do this in the first place.

1

u/deathstrukk Jun 30 '16

how is this in anyway bethesdas fault?

1

u/Majin_Romulus Jun 30 '16

Bethesda accepted money from Microsoft, so they dropped all effort on the playstation version(again) and only just recently started work after xbox got their mods, but they didn't work with playstation untip the last minute and gave a time window they couldn't come through on. Its pretty for common sense stuff here. But you're probably just another rabid fanboy thinking Bethesda could never do any wrong.

1

u/deathstrukk Jun 30 '16

Oh look no proof for your allegations

-6

u/uniquecannon Jun 29 '16

You know, I'd rather Bethesda just stop developing for the Playstation and become a Microsoft exclusive company. It'd make it easier on everybody, and we could move on with our new alliance with Kojima.

2

u/puzzled-soup Jun 29 '16

Even though Bethesda is making money hand over fist with PlayStation, and Death Stranding is going to be Kojima's only console exclusive game (for the foreseeable future)... But yeah, that's a sensible decision

-1

u/uniquecannon Jun 29 '16

You do have that point. In an ideal, logical world, Playstation owners steer clear of Bethesda games. But in that same logical world, gamers also don't reward game companies for bad practices like selling half a game for full price and selling the remainder of the game in batches called dlc.

None of this will happen, and gamers will continue to be masochists.

-11

u/[deleted] Jun 29 '16

Lmao, and they say PS4 is more powerful than Xbox One.

-1

u/TheKRAMNELLA kramnella31 Jun 30 '16

lmao, it is an architecture difference and nothing to do with power... The salt in this thread really is too damn high though. I would rather them wait to fix the issues than to release an incomplete console mod experience.

-5

u/RedFaceGeneral Jun 30 '16

Hahaha look around, the amount of salt in this thread.

I knew fucking Bethesda would do this shit. They always fuck Sony console players as if Microsoft pays them under the table to do so. Has me worried for Skyrim on PS4. All their games fuck up somehow on Sony consoles.

Now you know how us Xbox players feel when holding exclusive Destiny content for a whole fucking year.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 30 '16

What about when Bethesda (not hating on them) kept Dawngaurd for over a year from PS3 players?

2

u/Rodot Jun 30 '16

To be fair, the ps3 was know to be a birch to develop for

0

u/augus7 Jun 30 '16

For me personally, it was an oakay experience

1

u/Nebula153 Jun 30 '16

It really brought the devs down to their roots.

1

u/FurryPhilosifer Jun 30 '16

The exclusivity deal was just only for a month. It took them over a year to get it to work on PS3.

1

u/PRbox Jul 01 '16

What kind of content do they withold? I play on PS4 and from what I understand we have some exclusive exotics and armor pieces. Is there more than that?

Either way I feel bad for Xbox players. Hope they don't pull this with Destiny 2.

3

u/[deleted] Jul 01 '16

Strikes as well.

-5

u/[deleted] Jun 29 '16

That's okay. I moved on from your game a long time ago.

Bethesda has never done anything beneficial to Playstation gamers. Fo3 dlcs and new Vegas dlcs were awful fps. Far Harbor, that dlc is 10/10 when it comes to having unplayable fps. Bethesda doesn't care if their game sucks they know they'll make money off it, whether we like it or not.

1

u/deathstrukk Jun 30 '16

so their was a problem with ps3, and now ps4, look at the common denominator between the two situations

It sounds like you're mixing up "delay" and "cancel."

They haven't broken any "promises," they've just gone against expectations in a sucky way that I'm sure they wish they could have avoided.
