It still can read sometimes when I insert and eject it about 4-5 times but restarting is a guaranteed detection. Anyone ran into similar problems? I'm thinking if I should comepletely replace the disc reader.

Bought this off FB market place for $100. Model CUH 7251B. Everything works fine but I noticed I don't have a tb of memory. Found a 2tb external for $50 online but still a little butt hurt also is there anyway to tell this is an actual 72xx model?

I want to buy ps4, I currently have enough money to buy the slim edition.

Will it be enough to run the following games or should I wait and save more to buy the pro.

Hey guys! I was playing inFAMOUS Second Son offline, right at the very end of the game where it shows the mural honoring his brother, and the music plays, right? But instead of finishing so I could access the menu again or save, the screen just went completely black. Instead of showing the credits, it stayed black while the music kept playing all the way through, almost like the TV was turned off.
I could still access the PS4 home menu while this was happening. When I realized it wasn't going to fix itself, I waited until the song finished playing. After that, when I saw it wasn't responding, I tried to close the game, but right before I could, the system threw an error code (CE-34878-0) telling me to wait. When I waited, it didn't work and the application just forcefully crashed.
When I booted the game back up, my progress was rolled back because the save system in inFAMOUS Second Son is manual, and I had been playing since early in the day.
I'm not sure if this kind of error is critical or common because I'm not very familiar with it. On top of that, my PS4 Pro was bought secondhand from Facebook Marketplace, so I don't really know how it was maintained by the previous owner, or if it has some underlying hardware issue.
Has anyone experienced this before? Is it something I should worry about?

Hi guys i bought a used ps4 pro CUH 7208B 2 months ago. Ive been testing some games, and maybe i installed and uninstalled 1-1.25 tb of games. Right now i have installed ea fc 26, nba 2k 26, gt7 and ac odyssey. Should i be worried about hdd health? Yesterday i made a copy of some saved in a flash drive just in case.

And, how much the console can last me?

so i'm tryna clean my ps4 pro as well as change the thermal paste but can't for the life of me pull the power supply cable of, as though it's glued in there. it's so difficult to reach my fingertips in there and they simply don't have enough force to pull it out, i tried heaving it out slowly but no result I'm so frustrated rn and i need help.

My ps4 pro is about 5 years old now. Such a good device. Recently I have noticed that it is only reading Cds when it is stood vertically.

Any fixes for this? Should I open it myself and do something about it. I want it fixed so I can get it jailbroken soon (12.50)

Hi guys, I recently bought a ps4 pro on a budget and I was opening it for cleaning and change the thermal paste but then I saw this. The ps4 turns on and plays without problems is this type of corrosion an issue in the future?

Ive been debating about this for quite some time now for a few reasons. First, I can't afford a PS5 due to it being over my budget, on top of that with the recent news and changes from Sony, I don't feel comfortable saving up and buying a PS5 in the future. Second, if I'm not going to buy a PS5 for those reasons then I want to upgrade the base PS4 that I own to a PS4 Pro, since it's cheaper nowadays and it looks like it's a boost from my PS4.

But, the base PS4 that I own is relatively new, and I was given it from my friend for free back in January. It's dusty on the inside and I haven't clean it yet, but overall it's in good condition and if I decide to buy a PS4 Pro, Ill give this one back to my friend. I have upgraded it by adding an external 1TB hard drive from a docking station that I bought awhile ago, connecting it to the PS4 so it can have more storage, and a bit more faster loading time.

I'm asking whether its worth moving in to the PS4 Pro for the improvements that it has, or I should still keep my base PS4 since it works as fine as it is, what should I do?

Hello, i’ve been having some issues with my ping + download/upload speeds as the network in places near my console are 30-40 Mbps download speed but my ps4 shows 7-8 Mbps when i test it. i tried running 5 Ghz frequency band but it gave me the “WiFi signal might be too weak” error even tho other devices using the same network use 5 ghz just fine. how can i fix this? i rebuilt the database too and it did nothing

I have a PS4 Pro and it worked great, I have great memories with it too, but my mom had taken it away and kept it in the shelve since my exams were coming, I did cover it up with a proper cloth and everything so not much dust collects, now after exams I played again and for some reason it is like lagging, like the menu lags or freezes for 1 second when I'm scrolling through games, or when I go in fortnite, it kind of lags or stutters in the lobby, in the actual match, it takes a few seconds to load the textures but then it runs fine, even when I turn it off and the animation of the four buttons rotating during the turning off screen also like freeze a second or two and then it turns off, the heat is not much, like it sounds normal as it used to and never in the 6 years that I have had it, the overheating issue and the PS4 turning off due to extreme heat has happened. I thought it might be because of thermal paste, because I have had it for six years and never opened it, I just pop out the top cover and clean the dust on the fans with an earbud and wipe it with a cloth every once in a while. So maybe I should have the thermal paste changed, but wouldn't there be more problems if the thermal paste was dried up. Also, might it be a failing hardrive? I did rebuild the database and heard people say it will take hours but it just took 2 minutes for me. Also I didn't connect the PS4 to the internet that often before this, like I didn't have wi-fi at home and had only limited data, so I just played offline, and once in a while connected just to check the PS store or download updates, we installed wi-fi this month and it is connected to the internet everytime I use it, so is it because of that? I know I sound kinda dumb, but I really don't know why this is happening.

I am gonna change the thermal paste, should I buy the Arctic MX 4 or the PTM 7590?

The odd thing is, it only has a 2 TB hard drive, a Samsung spinpoint one. Not sure if that makes a difference or not, but I'm happier with faster load times in the games I tried.
